Need More Info Lags Hard in siege battles

Semi fixed it by disabling the delegation command (F6) during the siege, seems there's an issue with AI that's probably looping out of control.

Edit: Note, the AI still behaved normally even with delegation command off.
What exactly is that supposed to do?

I found that exactly after the battering ram breaks through the gate or the ladders go on the walls, the lag goes away. The pathing hypothesis seems reasonable since the AI is trying, and failing, to find a valid path into the castle.

I just wanna add that i experienced lag the second the bridge of the siege tower hit the wall. It seems to be that all the ai soldiers all of the sudden start moving towards the new point of entry and that lags (that's my hypothesis)

Got the lags aswell. They always start when the AI starts to climb the ladder to the walls. As soon as the gate is broken, my fps jumps back to normal.

Yeah exactly the same here, most troops tend to abandon the main gate and leave the second gate and until that's destroyed there's huge lag.

For me strange thing is that my CPU, GPU and ram are not fully used and still siege battles are sometimes laggy as hell. I cannot even move just waiting till it resolves itself

Same bro, I have a pretty decent pc: Core i7 7700k, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1070, and It lags like hell for me when the siege towers hit the walls.

FPS drop around 40 when siege tower hit the wall
maybe path caluculation using massive CPU power?

So I was escorting the Ram up to the gate and they started whacking at it, no FPS issues so far with a ~900 soldier siege. As soon as the gate goes down from the ram... there's an inner gate, which all of my infantry proceeded to wack, which started spiking my FPS down, due to the excess particles created by 20 footman hitting a door at the same time over and over again. Even if I reduce particle density and quality to Low my FPS drops to around 5, but I'm also right next to the seeming cause of the lag. As soon as the inner gate went down my lag stopped.

98% sure its the pathing issue. good fps until ladder or ram is in place, then 5-10 fps until secondary gate is broken , but that takes ages, as the ai units are confused as to were to go. the pathing needs serious work

Definitely a pathing issue. If defending I just open the gate myself lol, solves instantly but sucks to not utilize walls
I9900k
2080ti
32g ram

Yep same problem, have an RTX 2080, a good CPU, and a ton of RAM. It happens when a ladder or siege tower hits the wall. It lasts a few minutes then it goes away.

It goes away when I breach the second main gate so troops can go in there without using ladders. My guess that there is an issue with the AI pathfinding algorithm which chews up the whole CPU capacity.

I experience this every time. Huge lag when trying to get up the walls, and AI that won't use ladders or siege towers.

they said they fixed it, but ai still act like they dont know how to climb ladders and just spaz out most of the time. fps is better, but not by much
Sieges is the big problem lets say in the game still.... Soldiers act retarted and the game laggs mega with siege towers and ladders in the wall... Also archers in def are not doing a good job

Siege lag is 100% an AI pathing problem just had the worst lag i have had to endure yet.
Yes i play on pretty much max settings I have tried reducing a couple of things that supposedly make a difference like shadows to static and cloth simulation to no effect.
Also if it was an cpu or gpu isssue the lag would ease as soldiers died but it does not and only seems to start once you are on the walls.

My Rig -
CPU 2700X Watercooled
GPU 1080Ti
16GB Corsair ram (@3200mhz IIRC)
1TB SSD
9x Corsair maglev fans
Rig running cool as a cucumber

Edit - Just had a siege and i made sure the second gate got destroyed did not get a single bit of lag.
