Lag Compensation?

Hey, even though I never played Warband personally but with all the talk and such I was wonder is there actually any form of lag compensation in Warbands multiplayer? If you played games like Counterstrike for example they've a form of Lag Compensations. For those who doesn't understand here is an example, just say I have let's say 300 ping (approx 2-3 seconds delay lag) Just say I was holding a sniper rifle, I aimed at my target's head then fired. If that guy ran behind a wall after I shot him (from my pov) 3 seconds later he will take the hit as that the Lag Compensation kicked in. So is there or will there be any form of lag compensation added to the game?

I do believe there is some. And by the way, a 2 to 3 second lag would require a 1000-1500 ping. a 300 ping would only lag you .6 seconds (.3 seconds each way)

Hmm weird thing is .6 delay isn't a lot I don't know how people miss with 100 ping (0.05 seconds delay). lol

well 100 ping is .2 seconds delay (.1 second each way), which is still practically insignificant. 25 ping would be a .05 second delay

.2 second delay is quite a lot actually, especially in shooters but in mount and blade too.

Actually, I'm pretty sure latency is measured round trip, not one way.

For comparison, guys, 300 milliseconds is how long it takes you to blink. (And not the conscious sort of blink, the sort you do automatically. I dunno, seems to me like it's slower when you do it on purpose)

I think human reaction time to visual stimuli is 150-300 ms.

how will you do that in melee? you hit him(but dont see hittin;you are laggin), he hits you, you die then lag compensation and he dies too..?

Well let's say in battlefield 2 their lag compensation system, yeah if he shoots you and you shoot him and theres lag you both die. But as for counterstrike, for example you have a 3 second delay you shoot someone, within that 3 seconds if that guy had like no delay and he shoots you. You die before your bullets even do anything to him so he lives your dead.

i have never encountered something as ridiculous as a 3 second delay. As mentioned above many servers will auto kick you if your ping is too high (usually from my experience if you ping is even in the 300 range you get kicked, possibly even lower. How could you ever play anything with a 3 second delay?

very poorly. i'm adept at this. not the 3 second delay, but the poor playing bit.

I dont think its possible to have a 3 second delay. The server will drop you long before that. 3 second delay would be a 3000 ping. The max ive seen anywhere is 1500 in L4D a few times.

Honestly this "takes 3000 ping to get 3 second delay" is a little off topic, could we go back to the original post. and no not all counterstrike server kick you for high ping automatically unless the server uses the serverside command which auto kicks anyone with ### amount of ping.

A) 300 ping is not playable but it would be .3 seconds not 3 seconds, and no there is NO lag compensation that works like that.

You should never play on a server with more than 200 ping,  100 or under is best.

What are you guys on about? I just made an example of 300 ping, I don't play on 300 ping servers >.> I'm just guessing. An example doesn't mean it's true, but it happens people sometimes join overseas servers and have that ping. Regardless I was originally asking if will there or is there lag compensation in Warband Multiplayer which the answers would probably be Yes or No.

all I can say is at the moment a ping rate of 255 -258 is damn annoying, I can't get 1 kill

I play for hours and I'm lucky to get 1 kill, the other day I was lucky enough to get 4 kills but it's really annoying when you have all the best armour and weapons and your fighting a guy that is completely naked and only has a shiled and spear

one secend he's in front of you and the next he's behind you and he's chopped you to pieces before you could even move because of the lag :S

Ok help me understand the mechanics of laggy gameplay.
If there is no lag compensation, and my opponent has a 50 ping and I have 300.

What does that mean?

Do I have to aim at where I think my opponent will be in .3 seconds? .35 seconds?
Does he have to make any similar compensation?

The server knows/decides where a player is, and where he is swinging his weapon right? And so if I tell my character to swing his sword, I'll see him swing immediately but the server says he swings his swords .3 seconds later.

*brain explodes*
