Lack of Platemail?

I noticed that there isn't a suit of platemail like in the original M&B. The only armor I have seen with the word plate is the coat of plate, and it's just chainmail with some kind of jacket that i assume the plates are underneath. Am I just jumping the gun here? is there a suit of platemail available in the Native module?

I know it's probably not historically correct to have knights in suits of full plate in 1250 AD since I believe they didn't use suits of plate untill 16-1800's but it was really cool riding around on a heavy charger with a great helm and decked out in heavy plate in the original M&B.

You can still get plate. King Harlaus has some as well I think.

ok well thats good, especially since i just looked it up and it turns out knights started using plate mail in the 13th century, so it would be correct for the time period, however probably very expensive and rare(ish)... why i havnt seen it yet and why a king has some.

No, they didn't -not the full plate armours I believe you refer to, anyway.
During the 1200s (13th century) the heaviest armour used in Europe was mail with a few plate reinforcements -that's what the coat of plates is, a suit of mail covered with a surcoat with plate inlays. The breastplate over mail appeared soon after.

Actually, I can't remember seeing full plate in the game for a while -the heaviest I seem to encounter is lamellar or coat of plate over mail. Not sure if it's in there, but if not... good riddance. I never thought it fitted with the imagery anyway.

Are we talking about single player here?  If so, yeah, plate armor is in the game.  Costs ~10k, if I remember.

yeah it is in there, I was playing right after posting this and saw some in a shop, not the "Gothic" full plate used in the 17th century but the cool suit of chain mail with steel breastplate, shoulder guards, gauntlets and greaves. Thats the one i was reffering to

I'm very certain I've seen the plate armour in-game many times.
It's there, don't worry. But with so many armours in-game, singling out a single kind can be oddly difficult.

How do you like these?
