hey. i played this mod for 5 hours straight. i would just like to say that you put great work into it and the  models and textures are awsome.
 
Got a few errors with the Beta 2 patch over Beta 1 when entering armor marketplace: "RGL WARNING: Unable to find mesh helmhornWIPcloth_01"..."RGL WARNING: Unable to find mesh Hornedgreathelmyouhou_01"..."RGL WARNING: Unable to find mesh steelhelmet_01"..."RGL WARNING: Unable to find mesh steelhelmet_02"...."RGL WARNING: Unable to find mesh helmhornWIPcloth_04".

Will go back and make sure I installed everything correctly...

that's the multi-waves code doing that, not the formation code. You must be talking about Timeless Kingdoms ? That's a whole different beast. And I know it "look more realistic". It's the end result that worry me. But the multi waves and other extra stuff, that's different. The multi wave is very good.
Im pretty sure that this system of introducing waves also occurs with the morale script. I don't know about this multi-waves code.

And having to position your troops before you triple click to stand closer is much less efficient than just assign a perfect formation for the troops with a single button.

It's great to see things are moving along for you.  I hope this mod continues to do well; it's been great so far.

I really like that helmet.  I noticed in the 3d discussion that the poly count was a little high, is there any chance you might trim that down and include it in a future release?

The holes and crosses are just in the texture. The one with the cloth is allready 1264 triangles so i had to keep it down somehow. The plain one is 1008 triangles.

Way too much for a great helmet. But I suggest you to practice a bit more before you throw yourself into the 'real' mod modelling work.

It's a pretty nice helmet though.

Yeah i know it's a high tri count. Will take some time to learn how to accomplish "more" with "less" so to speak. I will still use it though, as long as i dont give it to troops it wont be a problem.

I really wouldn't know if that's a high poly count or not, just asking based on that discussion. 
 
For the kind of helmet it is it's too much. Period.

Sure, it wouldn't be a killer but mind you, M&B has a very uneffective engine so you're supposed to save ressources where you can. You shouldn't let this lower the model's quality and overoptimize it, though. It's kind of about finding a balance.

By the way, I've made some great helms myself, too and they have no more than 550 tris(highest is 520 tris and that's on a very round-ish helmet). So it's not as if I was just saying this while having no clue what I'm talking about.
 
GodHandApostle I didnt miss your post regarding the half plate, i just missed to respond to it, thought i had untill i went back reading my last couple of posts again, sorry.  :oops:
Anyways, i think i could probably fit some half plate in to the mod as the heaviest armor type along side the heavily reinforced double/triple mail i had planned for originally. Since i am not really aiming for any specific time period it wouldnt really be a problem. I'm not sure when i would get around to it but it is on my list now, so eventually.  :smile:

Benz282 Did you figure it out? Lt.ofthetower had exactly the same problem but since i didnt hear back from him i sort of assumed ha had installed it wrong and solved it. It SHOULD work. I actually downloaded the mod, downloaded the patch and installed it (just to make sure nothing had been corrupted in the upload) and it worked all right for me. If you are still having problems let me know and we'll try to sort you out.

Barry_bon_Loyale i am sort of very new to the modelling myself so i couldnt really tell you whats to high, but according to something Highelf wrote in his tutoral thread, a full faced helmet should be between 800-1000 triangles, and that would mean that the plain helmet falls just outside of that, whilst the one with the cloth..  well...  :roll:
If Santa says that it should be ok with proper lods then i will take his word for it.
I have no real plans to redo that specific helmet atm ( i hate going back to change things, i would much rather start on something new  :lol:), but i will probably be doing some lods for it since i was planning on using it in "Knights" as a non-troop item. I am not sure when i will get around to that though, it might be a while.
If you would like to use it "as is" and make your own lods for it, just pm me an email adress and i will send you the files.

Omzdog I know about the problem with the shield bash and i agree it can get very annoying at times, allthough it allways makes me laugh when you have just started a new battle and your men are standing around in formation waiting for the enemy to arrive and suddenly they start a shieldbash war amongst themselves for no apparent reason.  :lol:
Just like with the formation and morale features this seems to be one of those things that you either hate or love, so maybe it's best to leave it out for now.

I will probably be a bit less active working on Knights for a while since i will be trying to do some stuff for Santa's mod but i will still be around, reading and posting. And Santa has given his ok for me to use things i create for CR in knights as well.

Yes, I got it working, thanks. The problem was that when I saw "Knights Beta 2 Patch", I assumed it was an upgrade for Beta 1 --> Beta 2, so I just downloaded that and installed it over my Beta 1 folder. It's fixed now though, and dang was I missing out on the new helms!
 
The crown again is a different kind of great helmet.

And you don't need more than 20 faces per row on a great helmet.


By the way, you don't have to worry about great helms looking crappy at dialogs because characters wear no full helmet in dialogs :smile:

Soil I think the big problem with this particular helmet is not that it is round, but the fact that it is hollow (it will show up in conversations btw since its not marked as "covers_head") and also you have the mail coif inside for a few extra triangles. I could probably trim it down a little bit if i really wanted to, but to reach the tri-counts you mentioned i would have to make the helmet solid.
 
Why is it hollow? The mail is no real problem(I didn't see that). Maybe 300 tris are okay for that. But why don't you make the helmet solid? The head beneath the helmet isn't shaded and thus will look crap.

Lol, don't worry about it. That little mistake didn't cost me too much time and the quality of the mod itself more than makes up for it!

Btw, the patch is save-game compatible with Beta2, and probably Beta1 as well.

No problem about time, I'm not running away!  :smile: I'm a big supporter and i only ask for things i would like to see in the mod, so if you're going to add something that looks like the image I've posted I'll be happy, no matter how Long it takes.
I don't get the chance to say this often, but i really appreciate the work you did and still do on this mod. So far from me to ask for anything to come faster... thanks for the awesome mod!!!  :mrgreen:

I have some suggestions, recently i bought a book all about knight ( the names is "Knight" :razz:) and there i saw some thing that would fit for M&B, and for this mod.

first:

A horse armor, that the horse that use this may have increased charge damage.

Spurs! add them to the boots to increase the knightly feel.

third:

can't remember the name... is a thing the knight putted on their horse's mouth to increase the obedience of the horse

If you want me to give more suggestions (with pics) say it, if you didn't like them say it, if you want me to stop posting suggestions say it,

Seeing as you guys seem to know what you're talking about, could anyone please tell me how I might go about making LODS for horses? My mod is just one problem after another and I'd really appreciate the help...
