Well, you asked for it so:

Farm Model #1, By Dvd

Meh, not the best I know. But still, I tried. :smile: It is for use on the World Map as in Icon. I was not sure about uh, dimensions, so I made it 1'x1'. Is that average size for an Icon?

Arnt all Map icons WAY better without any kind of ground? I just find it annoying when the ground of the map icon doesnt apply correctly to the terrain,

Well, thats way I made the ground go down so far, to fix that problem.

I downloaded the mod, it said .51, and the Manor is completely broken. It won't allow you to individually go to any of the places listed when you first enter it, and then you are automatically booted to the main area where all the buildings are 15 feet off the ground so you can't enter any of the rooms.

Also, the farm overseer guy in front of your keep will just lock you in dialogue without saying a word if you talk to him.

I have the newest version of M&B, it just seems like your manor is screwed up because the beginning menu doesn't work, you can't click on any of the options and it will just send you to the main place after a few seconds, which is full of floating buildings that you can't enter.

A/ Get the patch to fix the overseer dialog.
B/ The Manor is not supposed to work and it doesn't matter. There is nothing to do there yet. Everything is in the keep.
 
Dvd, that's the kind of icon I want but a bit more detail would be good. I also agree with Lu Bu about the 'stand' the farm is on - I don't think it's necessary.

Everyone else: a new patch (0.52) is out. Fixes the floating buildings in Player Manor and adds new passages there.

To get it download the source files and copy the SceneObj directory to your K&M Mod folder.

Yeah, I agree we don't need too much detail. Change the color of the roof and the reduce size of the door though.

More of a fortified Roman Villa design

Keep Version 2



More of a traditional Medieval design. Would add a moat and make the walls connect at the back.

There's no point having two different Keeps. Which Keep design do people prefer? Neither is supposed to be perfect now, they'll be improved. I just want to know what you think of the general lay-out and style.
 
i dont get how to install the Knights and Merchants mod. I'm not an idiot with computers but no programmer either, and your 12 or so step guide is for patching it to other mods i think...this doesnt come as an individual mod? or am i just stupid.

after i download it, it comes as a .rar file, where do i put it?[/code]

Unzip the file. Copy the directory you get ("Knights & Merchants 0.50" or something) into your M&B/Modules directory.

Then download the source files. Unzip and go into that directory. Take the SceneObj folder and put it into M&B/Modules/Knights&Merchants/ (over-writing the old files).

Then either:

1/ Download the patch, unzip and copy those replacement files.
2/ Run build_module.bat in the Source Code folder.

The main download for the game all i get is knights_-_merchants_v_051.rar, and which doesnt have a folder or anything else to go in the module, and the source download all i get is module_system_0731_cc-ff_052.rar, once again no folder or anything.

i think the patch download works, because i get the text file "conversation", but from all those downloads i got no .zip file to unzip, or any folders to put in the module directory. What am I doing wrong, or is the download faulty?

.zip & .rar are kinda the same thing. They are both ways of packing files. Simply unzip the .rar file to your desktop and you should get a "Knights & Merchants" folder. Then move that to your Mount & Blade\Modules folder.

If you cannot unzip .rar files than you need WinRar. It is free download, have fun!

Now do you know how to put them into the format so they can be used in Python files? (I've never done this before but I think you have to use the BRF editor)

What unzipper do you have? I have WINRAR and I right-click and select "Unzip to [name of file]/". Do not use "Unzip to here".
 
Why is it only me who things that keep 1 is FAR better than keep 2?! :sad:

But nice models dvd. Way better than your first. :wink:
 
Found a bug by the way, the Farm Overseer at the small keep near Zendar, when you talk to him, he says hello and gives no options to talk back, or to even cancel chat. Have to Alt-Tab and reboot the game. Doesnt freeze, just no options, lol
