Knighthood Training Time Shortening Tweak Not Working

I was told that this tweak still works for the current version of PoP:

I applied it to the latest version (3.705).

The item upgrade time gets shortened, that part works.
But the companion training time does not work - the longest training option (Four weeks)
still takes four weeks.

Any insight to this?
(specifically, the simple_triggers.txt file tweak to shorten the training time does not seem to be working)

Have you checked if the gains of each training session haven't been doubled with the tweak?

That would cut in half the training time, though it wouldn't be as obvious.

Also consider it's chance-based, so I don't mean gaining 2 points in a skill instead of one every time, but rather having more gains in diverse skills to the point it's noticeable.

It doesn't change how long your companion goes out for, but rather, how man6 skill gains theu give to your troops.
