Whats your favorite Knightood Order and why?

In Pop 2.5 i fought with the Knights of the Falcon which are kinda cool, but hoping to go somewhere else this time..

Question: does anyone know how to improve relations with a Knighthood order? Specifically the Knights of Eventide or Knights of the Dawn... I can't seem to find how anywhere on this forum but it would be really nice if they stopped hating me so I could create the Order in one of my cities....

The only way you can do so is to help them out in battles - just join in any fight they are in and help them against whoever the enemy is.  (Bearing in mind that they fight against the D'Shar and the Empire, too, so you can land yourself in trouble with a faction or two by doing so.  You may wish to confine your help to when they fight the D'Shar raiders and the Rogue Knights, Treasure Seekers, etc.  If you help them against another Knightly Order, that Order will get mad at you, too.)  If you are not on good terms with the Knights of Eventide, it will be quite nearly impossible to hold Singal, but then the Knights of Dawn will be very annoyed with you.

I enjoy using the silvermist rangers as my main archers, especially for sieges. They look dead sexy and they are pretty accurate and deadly.

I also use the Knights of the Dawn from Valonbray as my main heavy cavalry. They have a bad attitude off the field and an even worse one on it. Best way to get good relations is by helping them in battles and through the heartbeat quests. When the vilage elder finds heretics, deliver them to the knights of the dawn and your relations should improve by between 2 and 4.

Haven't used eventide but I guess you should let the heretics go in heartbeat quests, to improve your relations.

Knights of the falcon is ok, but they are slightly worse than dragon knights (started as ravenstern), which in turn is worse than dawn. I think knights of the dawn is lvl 50 and all others are lvl 45, but I may be wrong.

Thanks Fawzia,

Where's the best place to find these Knights roaming around?

I'm assuming some place around Singal (for Knights of Eventide) and Valonbray (for Order of the Dawn)?

That's right. It's not easy to get on the good side of the Eventides, but it can be done. To see what your current relations with them are, move your mouse over the face in dialogs with their parties on the map, or the Order guards in the castle.

Thanks mate.

I'm about -4 with Order of the Dawn but -40 with Eventide.

Question is, where do the Eventide Knights fight? I can't seem to find them anywhere and I've been looking for forever...

Aesthetically, the Order of the Lion is my favorite, but that may change soon when get around to see other orders.

The Empire Immortals are my favorite, hands down...
When I started my game and started helping out the Lord of the Empire, one of my first fights in Pendor featured me, on foot, running beside a group of Immortals, and watching them just tear through everything that got close to them...
I have an Immortal Chapter in my castle, Seven Cross Keep, and I just recently joined their order. I always keep 20 of them in my Party for when I'm moving a small group for renown.

had one run with Ebony Gauntlet which is a very good choice if you like to capture prisoners and crossbow troops.

the next game I took the Eventides and joined their Order. took me a lot of time an patience to protect the
randomly spawning 3 Knights on patrol because the are usually eaten really fast by some D'Shar Bandits.

however...the Helm with cape is very cool (levitates a little but oh well) and the lvl 50 Eventides own the field.
mixed them with some mercs and barclay troops because I'm to stupid playing with the weak Pendor Troops.

i made some screens ... they will help you to make your selection easier.
my collection is not complete .... ill try to complete it.

IMO, all honor troops are too good once you upgraded the crap out of them.  I struggle with money throughout the game until the end when I have way too much money.  I think you ruin the game once you upgrade your honor troop too many times.

If you want the best firepower and don't care about money upkeep, immortals and knight of ebony gaunlets are the best choices because you can recruit rogue nobles from the tavern and train them up to become hero adventurers and use them as your calvary.  Hero adventurers are very expensive though.  I don't like to see them stored in castles taking up wages while doing nothing most of the time.

They are not doing nothing there, they´re drawing their wages and meditate to be available in large numbers when needed. And for that, they´re perfect. I prefer paying them only half their wages in the castle rather than having 50+ of them in my party all the time. The occasional few you get from updating Adventurers is all fine and nice but the full team of them? We´re talking about ~5k difference in wages there. They´re only taken out of garrison if payday is a long way off and I´m ready to bloody-siege something or fight a serious spawn.

That´s their moment of brilliance. 50+ HA make the day against anything.

Immortals are hands down the strongest infantry troops available. They´re awesome if you protect them from arrows, crushing during offensive sieges and hell while defending.

HA are that expensive because they´re mounted and mercenary units as both increases the basic wage determinded by troop level.

I once had 130 HA garisoned in my Capitol. It was a thing of beauty but they burnt a very large hole in my budget. On the field it was a blur of death and destruction with arrows, swords and lances flying everywhere killing all in their path. All I could do was gallop around in circles waiting for the odd peasant to emerge from the mayhem so I could pounce on him. At level 60 they probably are the best "honor" troops you could get, but they cost too much. I eventually used them as a meatshield against the noldor in order to cul them naturally and get some kind of positive balance in the bank. I just couldnt get myself to dishornorably disband them, after all the love and care it took to raise them from snot nosed adventurers.

I love having a large group of Hero Adventurers stashed for special occasions - at least they go on half-pay when they are garrisoned, so they don't cost so much.  It takes so long to level them up to Hero Adventurer, the downside is that I don't use them enough, because I don't want them getting killed!

I generally avoid using masses of honor troops/HAs. Any of them en mass makes battles bit cheesy.

Two of my favorites are lady valkyries and Knights of the ebony gauntlet.

Valkyries because they uh, are female. And they used to be very easy to get.

Knights of the ebony gauntlets are just great. Only crossbow troops i ever use in the whole game. Their only downside is that the footknights are awesome enough already , especially in warband version where their lack of shields isn't a problem due to shieldwall. Two handed swords are just manly.

Its mostly flavor thing, all are pretty awesome. Don't particularily like silvermist rangers(they run out of arrows so fast and aren't all that fancy in melee) or windriders (i use very battlesizes and horse archers tend to be more ineffective the bigger the battlesize is).

Like I mentioned silvermist is my most favourite. Yes they run out of arrows quickly, but by then most are stuck in dead enemies. And they still look dead sexy in their wedding armour (thx devs). But yes the biggest conundrum with honor troups (like fawzia mentioned) is that loosing them. It's the worst feeling. I would rather tour the map with some beggar pendor heavy archers and men-at-arms than shiny new HA's. Losing 10 of those bum pendors is bearable at least, but loosing one of your 100+ HA's is enough for me to ask the dev's to dev a burial ceremony.

Any way my personal feeling towards ebony dudes (bigots) is that they didnt fit into my roleplaying strat so I dint bother with them. I just got a bad vibe. But I'm sure they are worth having as a multi purpose force. So to end the debate I will post best pendor honor troops:

Cavalry : Dawn or eventide( good luck with them)
Archers: Purple rangers(Clarion) or silvermist (u know what I like)
Foot/Infantrey: There is only one (without decapatation) Ebony bas asses.

For those that want to choose any other culture but pendor, you are missing out on a lot. Sure the grunts are just that, but you wont use them 90% of the time. Pendor Honor troops will make K'Jadu and Wolfbode shrink into nothingness. The upgrade tree is just too good to pass. Even as "raw" honor troops thaye are pound for pound better that the rest.

PS:Cheesy battles are cool some times.

yeah, your first few cheesy battles are awesome, sitting there watching green "<enemy troop> killed/wounded by <totally badass troop>" messages scrolling across your screen is pretty fun, but eventually it can get boring.

which is why high surgery+mid-medium-high tier troops is better, since you have the excitement of the possibility of loosing, but don't have to worry about having enough troops to fight the next battle with.

2.5 was a bit extreme in that case. Upgrading honor troops was that easy and powerful it was just insane. I´ve massively used pimped up Knights of the the Falcon then for siege purposes but quit using them after two sieges.

They were so goddamn powerful it wasn´t fun anymore. Fully pimped, they were almost faster running than riding, which was too much for my pride. Me on my warhorse beeing overspeed by some pedestrian wearing a full suit of plate armor and a morning star?
Can´t have. Apart from that, they stole all my kills and XP, the greedy buggers

So far I've only had the pleasure of using Empire Immortals and Knights of Eventide. The Immortals are so beastly and easy to train they immediately replaced my former love, Legionaires. I fought a Jatu army which had about 555 troops (and 2k+ captives ) And I had Companions and only Immortals, 122 of them to be exact. I was a bit worried when I saw 200+ Jatu Lancers riding fullspeed toward us, couched lances and all. Lost 14 Immortals the entire battle. Still felt awful tho. But they each brought down 10-15+ Jatu with them.

I want to back them up with Centurions but my biggest problem with that is securing a Qualis gem, I've been scouring the map for an opportunity for about 300 ingame days. Right now there is only 2 Unique spawns roaming around and they are both out of my league 800-1000+ troops and 30% super elite troops in their armies.

I can't wait to try the Pendor honor troops tho, I just gotta make the switch.
