King's personalities

Master Knight
We all know Harlaus as a feast-loving corrupt cowardly ass, but what about the other kings? Are they scripted to be like anything? At least how I have experienced it, king Ragnar is a crazy warrior conquering everything.
King Graveth is a silent guy, although he always is fighting the enemy and patrolling the borders.
Sultan Hakim ALWAYS stays at Shariz and does nothing, except when he himself is in danger, then he rushes everything with mamelukes.
Sanjar Khan is an arrogant guy, likes feasting, but likes war even more.
King Yaroglek is kinda badass, but he is too serious. He should brighten up a bit.

All kings/leaders use the same AI.
Only difference comes from how lords behave, how campaigns work out and so on.
Thats the reason why Harlaus calls a lot of feasts - Swadia is strectched out. Same why Hakim stays at Shariz (but sarranids do a bit better due to lolmalukes usually and their opponents being weak to those). OR SO I HAVE BEEN LEAD TO BELIEVE.

don't disagree on the king AI script as I have heard the same, but it certainly plays out differently in game. For me King Grevath is generally very agressive, or at least he has the gift to pick marshalls who are at least. King Yargolek is to me the most active, as if his kingdom is on campaign you can generally find him somewhere near the fighting most of the time. Sanjar Khan is a bloodthristy maniac, Ragnar is nearly as bad and Harleus is just......well Harleus!

I have also noticed that harlaus declares war as soon as he makes peace with someone else.
I like ragnar since he wants to conquer everything, and only in peace time he seems to hold alot of feasts.
I just dont like sanjar khan

I think kings dont change in personality but lords do.

I like Graveth, he hasn't done anything stupid in any of my games and doesn't just pig out while all the action's happening *frowns at Haarlus*

I have noticed that Ragnar is aggressive very rarely are we at peace ( play as Nords most of the time ) and most of the time are fighting two or more enemies ( veigars and swadians )

From what I have figured out till yet:
(everything listed here is fully tested and tried)
____________________________________________________________________________________________________

King Harlaus of Swadia:

- Rarely joins the campaigns, even if he is free
- Always throws feasts in between of campaigns, and calls lords back to Praven if they are winning
- Mostly often seen patrolling around Praven, or going to newly captured fiefs to garrison them
- He is of 'half-serious and half-joyful' nature, as he has good relations with each lord
- He is very strong in combat, especially when he is mounted on his powerful Charger horse and Great Sword
- He is an offensive commander, but relies on defense when under attack
- He has mixed armies, which have the heaviest cavalry in Calradia and best armor available, and are of medium speed
____________________________________________________________________________________________________

King Ragnar of Nords:

- Joins all of the campaigns
- Throws feasts at a normal rate, and all of the lords come to his feasts
- Mostly seen travelling from western to eastern borders of his kingdom
- He is of dangerous nature, and a tactical warrior (he knows when to fight and when to declare peace)
- He is very strong in combat, especially when he swings his War Axe
- Focuses on offense, particularly on Vaegirs and Swadians
- Somewhat slower, but stronger armies
____________________________________________________________________________________________________
King Yaroglek of Vaegirs:

- Often joins the campaigns, particularly if they are against Khergits
- Rarely holds feasts, and focuses on war, mostly
- Seen patrolling around Rivacheg
- He has an extremely serious nature, and he is a genious who divides his power equally
- He has a nice strength, as he slashes his way into the combat with his Two-Handed Saber
- Focuses on defense rather than offensiveness
- Has medium-speed armies who can help each other while defending
____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Sanjar Khan of Khergit Khanate:

- Always joins the campaigns
- Throws feasts often, and only when in peace
- Often seen resting in Tulga
- Has a good, and warlike nature
- He is excellent fighter, and uses his lance to maximize his strength
- Extremely offensive ruler, and wins nearly every battle easily against Swadians and especially Sarranids
- Has the fastest army in whole Calradia, he conquers Sarranids in a single day
____________________________________________________________________________________________________
King Graveth of Rhodoks

- Joins campaigns rarely
- Throws feasts at medium rate, and all lords come to attend his feasts
- He is seen usually patrolling around Jelkala
- He is of unpredictable nature, and this thing surprises his enemies
- He is an excellent swordfighter, and slashes anything that comes to offend him in his own provinces
- He is a medium ruler, he controls his army in both defense and offense in the circumstances
- He has a good Pike, Spear and Crossbow armies, but lacks in cavalry, so his army is of somewhat slow speed
____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Sultan Hakim of Sarranid Sultanate:

- Never joins campaigns
- Throws feasts at a great rate, but usually only half lords come to attend
- Rarely seen going anywhere, he always stays in Shariz and waits
- He is of serious nature, and implies a good power in his own city
- He is a nice lancer, and kills away any type of enemy
- He is a medium ruler, as he always focuses on a single target and hunts him down
- he has usually swift armies, but no one of them co-operates with each other

I am currently playing a game as part of the Sarranid faction (day 350ish) and Sultan Hakim has joined almost every campaign. We did have an early change of marshal so maybe that is why he is more active (??).

He does stay at home when not on campaign and does throw lots of feasts.

From looking at the scripts, there is nothing to suggest that Kings have distinct personalities/behaviors. Each is simply responding to the situation they are placed by behaving as a common set of code instructs them to behave.

Unless, of course, Harlaus' sloth and gluttony is hardcoded, which I doubt, it is likely a response to the spread out nature of Swadia, the fact that lords are constantly losing relation to him as they are defeated in battle, etc...

Now, I haven't studied this in depth--I've mostly just looked for evidence of this as an side while doing other things--but before anyone gets too carried away outlining the hard-and-fast characteristics of certain Kings, I thought I'd say my piece.
