I am sure posts like this are annoying as hell but just how close would you say you are percentage wise( cuz as a modder myself its hard as hell to put a date on something).
approximately 0.5% done. dont bug me about it. biggest problem is the absence of a map editor for Warband. until someone helps me figure that out, no progress can be made except for models and possible coding.

thanks a ton for the pictures with hittites, and that last couple with all the arms+armor. HUGE help.

GOOD NEWS!!! I found someone who can code for the team. problem is, we need models first. and lots of them. If you have ANY models for middle eastern weapons, they would be greatly appreciated.

now you need a map maker or a scene maker, I am able to do both but will be honest my maps aren't the greatest

If it's A.D then it ain't ancient anymore.

The answer is quite simple. Things about ancient stuff is a lot more interesting when it's about the beginning of the Bronze Age. Not to mention your mod would be totally based off of Rome: Total War as you said.

the early middleages begin ( i may be wrong) but i think they start in 500 AD...

so what the hell should the period between 0 and 500 AD been called?

and the mod wouldn been totally based on total war but there should be some few designs out of rome and the factions (voted by the team: rome, egypt, seleucidia, numidia and greece and carthage will follow later) but maybe youre right maybe its the period.

but on the other hand: look at vikingr its about 700 (quite eventless 700 years for technologies) years later and rises to one of the most famous mods in warband

Hihi, this thread was started just eleven days before yours. And subsequently neither of yours must have seen eachother's thread.

I'm sorry to say I have not seen yours at all either. That seems to be one of the major problems with the modding scene at the moment, so many good ideas, so many mods, but really few players.

Thing is, and I know that this is not a nice suggestion because people tend to prefer to stick with their own work (I know I do) but maybe it would be a good idea for the you to work together? Both of you (and your team you mentioned?) seem relatively unexperienced, so maybe you can combine your experience?
Unfortunately this thread is cluttered with irrelevant remarks (seriously? Adding Jewish bandits would not be racism, why even bring that up?) and Chimera_T seems to have lost control over the thread a bit, which is logical because of all the spam. My personal feeling is that maybe it's best to amalgamate what you already have, discuss and combine your plans, and then have fun modding.

And maybe best to use DarthSpasti's thread for any progress because that one is very clean and empty at the moment.
Hopefully you can work something out. Also; maybe it's possible to help larger mods, even if they are newer, like Shadows in the Desert. It's very hard to mod alone and both the leaders of that mod are already somewhat experienced.

Of course, if you don't want to do that that is absolutely fine as well. Have fun modding in any case!

And I have to compliment Matmohair's pictures again.
