Killing Horses

Horsa 说:
if it doesn't it should.
Why should that be? The only threat a horse provides to you is when it's being ridden or some other player spooks it. On their own, they're no threat to you, and, should you decide to kill a riderless one, practically defenseless as well.

Well, from my point of view, it's this...

He runs around you, getting chance after chance to lance you. Only if he fails, and you manage to take out his horse with some miraculous throw of a throwing axe, you get to start an even fight with him on foot. A tad bit unbalanced.

Alright, I'm basing my opinions on singleplayer, because I'm not in the Warband beta, but I've always preferred playing as a footsoldier, and never really worried about cavalry. Usually, I'm wielding a polearm or two-hander, a bow, and two quivers of arrows. Now, if the lancer charges at me expecting to slaughter me with couched damage, I can sidestep and swing, and hurt his horse pretty bad, if not kill it outright. If, instead, he plays the game of circling around me trying to kill me with lance thrusts I just pull out my bow and turn his horse into a pincushion. Footsoldiers, from my experience, are not totally outclassed by cavalry.

Horses are considered equipment, yes? When you go into the equipment screen, you purchase a horse like you do armor or weapons. So why shouldn't you get gold for killing the horse? Unless the money for the horse is calculated when you kill the player.

It would be nice for some reward for taking down a horse. Considering often you take down the horse then watch as your teammates reap the benefits of you action(i.e. they kill the Calvary man).

Get on my horse, my horse is amazing. Give it a lick, "mmm tastes just like raisin". With a stroke of its mane, it turns into a plane.....

But yes i agree 30 gold for each horse you kill.

Sounds like your horse is actually Abraham Lincoln in disguise... Or maybe George Washington, I'm unsure.
New MJ?

If this gets put in, we might have to change our name from Hobos to Tycoons thanks solely to Styo's horse!

I'd like to see this put in too, by the way.  I kill lotsa horses.

I'm pretty sure they have ment to but never implemented it yet, to lazy to find where Daegoth mentions it

Daegoth 说:

Nvm, not that lazy I guess.

This should probably only come into effect when a horse with a rider is killed, otherwise it would be too dangerous for a cavalryman to dismount temporarily anywhere near his teammates!

Probably one of the bugs with it they are having

Its bad enough when I dismount to pick up a weapon from an enemy I killed only for someone to kill my horse before I remount.

Cavalry would be freaking rich.  Whenever I run around the field currently I kill stray horses (primarily to prevent dismounted enemy cavalry from getting back on).  Now I get to be rewarded for it?  Whoo!

Also most of the time my lance hits the horse rather than the rider any how, so bingo!

Only rewarded for horses with people on them I think... lol...

And cavalry should have to buy a new horse if it dies, even if they themselves did not die that round (talking about battle here).

I don't like horses that magically come back to life.
