So guys, what's your verdict on this? For me personally it looks like a better Left 4 Dead...more horror, a military theme, genetic experiments...

It's only £15 on Steam, looks well worth it.

Opinons?

It's only $19.99 USD on Steam in North America. 19.99 U.S. dollars = 12.8942785 British pounds, not that bad, noly a couple of pounds off :p

I like how the top google search result for 19.99 USD is http://www.steamunpowered.eu/index.php

On topic;

I havn't bought it yet, but I probably will, I've heard it's a hell of a lot of fun.

Im downloading it right now, it does seem a hell of alot of fun. Nothing like military survival horror right?

I personally think its cooler than L4D because of a couple reasons:

-more weapons
-more varieties of zombies
-perk system
-weld doors shut (awesome!)
-and 6 players instead of 4

L4D is ass to me. If I were to prefer a zombie game, I'd much rather this one, because it does not take the firepower of five third-world countries to kill one dude.

That said, I'm not one for zombie games anyway.

Well, that said, one who is not an expert in the way of zombie video-games should mind one's own business, hm?

Well I wasn't sure, but I'll definitely be getting now. You guys and another friends of mine have convinced me. Wish I just went ahead and bought it when it was $5 off, but oh well. $20 is still extremely cheap.

Plus, I love Red Orchestra.

To reiterate:

You use more than 3 guns through an entire game in KF, whereas in L4D you start with the pistol, pick up a shotgun, and upgrade to the auto-shotgun when you get the chance. Then you're done. In Killing Floor, I usually start off with my knife, then go with whatever pleases me, be it a lever action rifle or a flamethrower.

There are 2 enemy types I dislike, one because they tend to come in groups and they overpower me (a good dislike, it's a challenge), and the other because it takes "the firepower of five third-world countries" to kill him. Fleshpounds are tough, but they don't turn invisible to heal, and they don't have miniguns or rocket launchers. They come in groups sometimes, which makes it hard.

Perks give you something other than achievements to work for.

The non-linear levels let you pick your battles, though my team & I usually end up roaming around the level as large groups of enemies force us to shift positions.

The game handles the number of players rather well. Instead of adding in rather stupid AI to take control of other players, it instead limits the number of enemies that will spawn in each wave. So instead of being much harder when you're on your own, it's about the same. Although, if you have a full game, expect a ****-ton of enemies that your mates might not be able to take care of as quickly as you'd like.

I have the game and it's great. I love it.

The military theme is indeed great and I appreciate the fact that it takes team work to defeat the seemingly endless waves of zombies. You know, this game is in a way, Red Orchestra with zombies added. No really. You have none of that crosshair nonsense since you actually need to aim down the iron sights to hit something. The ballistics are also really fun (not realistic as in Red Orchestra, fun and this is good) since there is no greater pleasure in life than  dual wielding two Berettas and shooting the **** out of five zombies stalking towards you. Even more so if you get headshots on them.

Oh, and there's something called ZED-time which is basically slow-mo at well chosen moments. And the slow-mo moments always come at times of great badassery. I mean, you've just gotten a headshot on a zombie with the lever-action rifle. Bask in the glory of your achievement as you chamber another round with the wonders of slow-mo. See the brains fly slowly and be amazed as the zombie keeps on walking without its head.

Oh, and when you shoot the heads off zombies they tend to live for a few more seconds, wandering around aimlessly since they are bereft of their sight.

Another cool thing is the fact that you can weld doors in order to funnel zombies through one place, where you can make use of superior firepower and grenades. A well place grenade has a very satisfying effect on zombies, turning them into inert masses of jumping goo. The flamethrower also has a very gratuitous effect on massed zombies since there's nothing like the smell of napalm on a zombie in the morning (or night).

Oh, and hard difficulty really is hard. I mean, I've never gotten past more than three waves on hard difficulty, since by the fourth wave you usually have more zombies than all of your team (six people) have bullets. By the time everyone is out, it usually devolves into a last stand involving heavy use of combat knives, machetes, fire-axes and chainsaws. But still, hard is hard and hard is challenging so it gives you just that extra dose of pride when you achieve something on hard.

So in conclusion this game is cool. Get it.

We should really get a Taleworlds server going. I hate it when I play with retards who all go in six separate directions when the zombies come 'round. What's your name on Steam Orion?

I used to play this when it was a mod.

Haven't played in ages though, but I remember it being incredibly, incredibly fun. The dual wielded berretas are indeed ****ing awesome, although I'll always be a shotgun man myself.

Terrifying, adrenaline pumping, OH **** THEY'VE BREACHED THE DOOR, FALL BACK, FALL BACK! Goodness.

God damn it, I'm buying this.

I bought it when it was 25% off. It was only like 11 euros, though so not that much of a discount.

But still, a discount's a discount.

We should get a steam group set up for TW Killing floor users. If anyone is interested my name is nova_falconis. However, my computer is down at the moment so I won't be able to play for a while at least.

On the church level my entire team (and hence me as well) ended up cheating and using the gate glitch to get onto the wall of the map and off the edge. The Patriarch however was able to get across the wall/barrier somehow, good anti-glitch mechanism :p

Server: Yes. I'd try and keep it populated as much as I could. Retards who run in different directions: In the first few seconds of a game, you can spread out a bit to look for weapons, but if you check a couple spots and don't find anything, you should get a buddy and stick with them. Also, in the first wave everyone should be a berserker or a medic. Nothing else.

Steam name: Orion14

I'm in the Taleworlds group on Steam, too. We could organize some games through that.

Apparently the gate in West London was fixed in the patch today, but I have yet to test it my self.

Earlier today I had a pretty tense run on a hard server with a couple random people. They both got cornered by clots and started shooting wildly, hit a couple fleshies, and they died. I ended up with a glitched crossbow (couldn't pull it out, couldn't sell it, couldn't buy a new one, but it was taking up inventory space and slowing me down) and 2 Desert Eagles. There were about 80 specimens left, and the map was Manor. So I started running around through the cave system, large mob in tow. I picked up all the ammo I could find on the way, and picked off the enemies behind me as often as I could. I killed both fleshies, 3 chainsaw guys, a handful of bloats, and countless crawlers, gorefasts, clots, and stalkers. Then we fought the Patriarch, and we all died. I ended with 465 kills
