Is anyone else really disgusted by the prospects of a meta which sees infantry players only use 3 buttons? A,D and E? Like even if kicks have a counter that does not REMOTELY mean that the counter lends itself to good gameplay. If I’m playing a Mount&Blade game its because I want the gameplay to be centered around the mounts and the blades. Stun mechanics simply do not and never will lead to a well liked and enjoyable DM experience. They were fine in Warband because they were not spamable but still had a place as a decent tool to punish over aggressive players. Kicks should not be the centerpiece of the fighting mechanics.

Like I said. If the main thing differentiating a noob and a pro is their ability to deal with E spam that sounds like a really ****ty experience.

Yeah according to players it's fine to have the offensive kick slash, in most of the "mY baNneR lOrD cOmPiLaTiOn vIDeO"they kill with offensive kicks lashes or kick/jav kinda ***tty but whatever as you said 75% of this community will be a lower tier after they will remove it.

As long as its a viable mechanic its within players rights to use it. It just shouldn't be a viable mechanic. People respond by saying YoUrE jUsT BaD! I mean...ok? Id rather be bad at a fun game than good at a bad game. Not like the kick meta changes the way I play cav. Im just trying to throw infantry a bone by helping them advocate against a mechanic that they do not enjoy. At the end of the day the kick meta doesnt actually affect me at all as an above average cav main except for when I get dismounted or spread my wings and play a different class.

Some ideas:

- Make kicks blockable with downblock. If you block it, you get knocked back ala pommel bash but take no damage.

- Make only overheads possible to kickslash with, and allow overheads from an opponent in a kick stun. So if you get kicked you can immediately use an overhead and potentially chamber the kickslasher.

- Allow players who've been kicked to pommel bash. If they get kicked they can immediately pommel bash the opponent away before they can land followup slash.

- Allow players who've been kicked to kick back during kick stun. Would make for some fun kick fights.

Are you one of the secret EU closed build testers who is ruining the game for everyone else by saying **** like kicking isnt overpowered.
Kicking is fun and adds more depth to combat, atleast that's how I feel as an active Bannerlord Inf Player. I am not ashamed of that feeling.

Can we get chamber kicks? time it right and you can chamber a kick guys!!!
Thats a great Idea actually. It would atleast punish too obvious kicks.

Pretty sure you can chamber kicks in Mordhau.

Only thing is AFAIK kicks in Bannerlord don't have a "windup" and all chambering is done with the windup of an attack.

When its easily spammable and overused it removes depth from combat. In warband the kicks add depth to combat because they are more punishable and frankly properly balanced.

Kicks would be a fine mechanic if it weren't for the fact that you can't really punish people for missing kicks very often. As people have said previously in this thread, some people just spam kicks because in reality there is no reason not to spam kicks. The recovery time is ridiculously quick. For some reason it seems there simply is not a punish mechanic involved in playing infantry. You can switch weapons super quick so getting caught with a ranged weapon isn't a big deal, dismounted cav can shield immediately almost, people can kick and this does not disrupt their blocking or movement much. All we punish with is kick/pila.

Just make kick timing like warband...

But they are mostly used in 2v1 Situation in the competitive setting. They are the only relaible way to break a shield hugger right now. Yes they do need a nerf and yes they are a bit overtuned but removing the offensive aspect would be a shame and a step backwards.

Pretty sure you are being sarcastic. But in a 1v1 it is true that only noobs get kicked. If you know how to kick effectively you can see it from a mile away. I just played around 15 duels with Pacemaker and we both died to an actual kick slash two times.

Please stop please just stop

This is absolutely NOT true.

How come? I barely see Hairless, Pacemaker, Aprikosenmann, KSHMR get kicked on the duel server? Something must be off. Maybe the term noob is too hard. Lets phrase it as, "people who are not thoroughly trained in kicking".

True i agree with you, i haven't been able to kick any of these players easily like i do against randoms but adding the chamberblock to the kick is not just to counter kicks. I see it as an innovation to the kicking system.

Yeah man I am open to new mechanics which raise the skill cap. It would need to be tested and I dont know if there is an acual technical way to implement that stuff, since you are stunned. If we are unlucky that stun is hardcoded in the way it works wihtout leaving room to tweak it.
