@Gerius @Olaf The Cruel I think they should fix archers and cav ai as well, undoubtedly this will help somewhat with rambo.

They actually have expressed that they will make these improvements to the ai first and foremost before they consider any additional systems like leashing or limites respawns so you will be able to see for yourselves how these changes potentially resolve the rambo issue. There are many additional small and large adjustments that can and should be made as well but ultimately I believe that none of this will be enough to fully prevent rambo.

At the rate at which they are able to add these changes on top of the limits to ai improvements due to their considerations for keeping performance smooth and not overloading the system severely restricts what is reasonable for taleworlds to do, including spending development time on new formations which are highly unlikely to ever be implemented.

If these changes and improvements to the ai are still not enough to "eliminate" rambo as taleworlds has stated is their goal for captain, then I believe they should take it a step further and seriously consider implementing a preventative system such as leashing and limited respawns.

Did TW admit to archer AI being broken and super useless on the battlefield? That's not the vibe I am getting from the dev's statements at all. Removing that class from the equation, have created this situation we are in today. Why would anyone go rambo, if spears made more that 15 damage, and inf AI knew how to use their range attacks like the pila, and archers could repel a single cav? It should be a no brainer really. Dunno why I am the only one that see this so clearly, and have to fight for my opinions. What's really idiotic is, that the last many cap mode updates have supported and encouraged rambo tactics. TW's "vision" with the mode, what they want and what they actually do, is two different things..

Yeah just do a little search in the CL discord for posts made by AVRC where he discusses their desire and plans to improve archer ai and you will see. I actually agree with your opinions that the ai needs serious improvements, the only thing I think we disagree on in this regard is just how effective these changes will end up being but only time will tell. I have faith that they will fix Throwing and Archery ai at some point, especially if they implement the focus fire command that was prevously suggested and this should help. I am not aware of any plans to improve spears however so I can't answer that particular inquiry.

With my suggestions to the balance, I 100% know Rambo will go away. We might see a lone cav in pub games fooling around. But, in serious games it will be removed. Because no shots caller will allow the cav player to go rambo in that situation. Because It will simply be a bad and ineffective tactic to use.

I am getting numb to the dev's statements. I was hanging in there for a while, but now, after so many breaking updates I have lost both faith and trust. Ofc I have, can anyone blame me? That skirmish teams entered the tournament and won by doing what they do, playing skirmish, and afterwards are super toxtic about, did not help much either.

I never said i want status quo with rambo i just said i dont like your ideas like no ressurection or bots sticked to captain because these ideas will murder captain. We can make rambo unprofitable without revolution and destroying game.
quite right
