keystroke settings not storable!

I use to crouch "Q" and to change the weaponmode a mousebutton. So i need to change the settings. No prob so far. But everytime i restart NW, the standard settings are recovered. 

Reinstallation of Warband and NW didn't answer this problem. NW doesn't store my keystrokes! 

Any solution?

I read somewhere that you must make sure every key is assigned to prevent resetting.

You can't leave the key assignment menu without having all keys assigned. So that sounds silly.

It was given as an answer on the same question somewhere else on the board. I did it only once and my changes sticked, so dont know about the not being able to leave part.

This problem is still there after Patch 1003!

I did, but without any changing!
