Sergeant at Arms
Hey,
I have tried to keep them both in several games now, but thouse two just can't stand each other. They both have a friend, Sir Roland and Ansen, but for some reason they still end up unhappy... Aren't this supposed to be balanced when they have one good friend and one "enemy"?

I tend to sweettalk them both also, so its not because of me they get the bad mood.

anyone got a tip?

I just ditched Kaverra. Sir Rayne is much better in my opinion. Right now I have

  • Sir Rayne
  • Ansen
  • Julia
  • Sir Timothy
  • Sir Roland
  • Sigsimund Sinclair

They seem to be a really effective force, not much can take them down, I only really get worried when it is a random spawn battle or if it is a Noldor army that numbers equal or greater than my own.

As long as one doesn't leave the party though, you should be fine

I don't think so, just keep them happy with everything else and they'll stick around. Though I could be wrong on that

Don't you need two friends in order to have an enemy?

Kinda difficult, since everybody have one friend and two enemies
Also ended with me ditching Kaverra. Sadly. I like her style.

it's strange that you have to renounce to kaverra, if they have both a friend and have not anymore enemy than eachother, than they will never leave your party. So i dont see what is your problem.

Also "in theory" kaverra is a better companion than Sir Rayne:

Kaverra starts from level 12 and has str=16 Agi=15
SirRayne start from level 20 and has str=18 Agi=15

Now keep in mind that the max leveling up of your companions is usually around level 37/38, if you play a lot (really a lot).

So at level 38 Kaverra will have 26 more attribute points (38-12)
while Sir Rayne will have 18 more attribute points (38-20).

Now if you distribute this attribute points, at level 38 you will have:

Kaverra Str=30 Agi=27
Sir Rayne Str=27 Agi=24

The only problem with kaverra is that her polearm will start to be effective only after 225 proficency (sp?), so weapon master skill come handy.

Anyway if they have both a friend, and have not any other enemy than eachother, they will never leave the party.

Hmm,take Kaverra's polearm and ditch her. Rayne could be much more useful to you at the beginning and he befriends ansen.
Also rayne supplies the order of the falcon creation requirement.

Its my imported character from 2.02, so my start game isn't really a start game. I mean, who would arrive as a newbe mercenary in pendor with almost 200 k in goldpieces
So neighter my own strengh or my means are a problem in the consideration.

Are you sure that they wont leave. I keept seeing Kaverras rating going down.

1 hated and 1 loved dont make she leave. So she wont leave, her moral will drop a bit, even an half, but then stops.
If her moral start to drop too much, could be you have answered badly to her complaints, or your party moral is too low, or you did somethink she doesn't like.

Check your party moral. Annotate kaverra moral when your party moral is 99, and remember it. Than Everytime your party moral is 99, look at kaverra moral,  after a while it wont drop anymore. If it continues to drop, than there is a problem. Remember to check Kaverra moral when your party moral is 99.

I say, just continue to play, if she leaves, you can take she back again later.

Remember to give her, weapon master ability to 5, so her proficiency (sp?) will start to grow up quickly=more kills. As i sayd at a level above 30 (if you come to play that much) she has outclassed Sir Rayne.

She will leave, and did leave my party. Its happened 3 or 4 times now, the last time she hasnt returned in any taverns (ive spoken to every traveller ive come across). Im now 500 days in and have had her throughtout my game.

Well, it comes down to how you handle her rants, wether you support her or not. There´s a pretty good thread about this around somewhere on the first three pages, go look for it. You´ll get a clue how to handle the more critical members of your party.

Or you just use the knightly group (noosers nine  ) most people prefer to the scoundrel ones.

Sir Roland
Sir Rayne
Sir Timothy
Sigismund Sinclair
Leslie
Ansen
Julia
Horus
Diev

These 9 go without complaining and work well throughout the whole game, gives you a few low level chaps to form as you like, 2 Knighthood Orders and enough oomph for the early levels. Expensive, yes, useful, yes.

If you like to expand it, pick Kaverra as 10th party member.

just to make the comparison more clear (according to what i have sayd some posts above), here's the starting skills of Sir Rayne at level 20:

and this is how it looks the stats of Kaverra when she reach the same level of Sir Rayne (level 20):

this is why I prefer the companions that starts on low levels than the ones that starts to a too high level in my opinion. Also females are better and less boring, they keep well raised and straight the morale of us dirty soldiers...
