Alright, I just realized I have yet to talk about the Physaio units. Jee. Offense wise....these guys seem pretty underpowered compared to everyone else. Well, I gave them all a very high iron flesh stat. Hope you'll like it. They also don't have a lot of troop types. Well....that may change....who knows. For people saying spearmen suck....well in M&B spears are pretty crappy when it's a fight against swords. Thing is....basophils (spearmen) are there to take the hit and bite the arrow. The eosinophils (sword guys) are there to hack people apart as well as throw a few pila. The neutrophils.....are the primary ranged unit. I'm considering giving them a bit more ironflesh....
Physaio Town Watch - I made these guys a few levels higher than the recruits of other races. Well...the Physaio have a tradition of having everyone serve for some time in the militia forces. These guys actually have big shields and spears.
Upgrades to Physaio Hastati and Physaio Basophil Levy
Hastati - Upon joining the professional army a soldier can follow the path of the spear or the path of the sword. The path of the sword begins with the Hastati level. They wear a cuirass, carry a big shield, and use a short sword called a Gladius. They also carry pila, which a smart commander can order them to fire before charging or before being charged.
Upgrades to Physaio Eosinophil and Physaio Neutrophil.
Basophil Levy - Soldiers who choose the path of the spear start off as Basophil Levies. They also wear a cuirass, but they carry a smaller shield and use a spear. They do not carry pila. In a way....they are the meatshields for the Hastati.
Upgrades to Physaio Basophil and Physaio Neutrophil.
Eosinophil - These experienced Hastati now wear the famous signature armor of the Physaio nation. So they're sort of like heavy swordsmen.... Very solid infantry. Might need some help against cavalry though.
Upgrades to Physaio First Eosinophils.
Neutrophil - Neutrophils are soldiers who feel that melee is just not their forte. Instead, they prefer to throw javelins at their enemies. Javelins have a very short range compared to other ranged weapons, but they are more powerful.
Upgrades to Physaio Auxilia.
Basophil - I guess you can pretty much call them hoplites. They're armored spearmen and pretty tough. Some of them carry javelins....making them pretty dangerous.
Upgrades to Physaio Thymocyte.
First Eosinophil - Appearance-wise, they're the same as the Eosinophils. Deep down, they have better stats, and their Pila is weighted, making them even more powerful! A few hits would ruin any shield.
Upgrades to Physaio Karyobricii and Physaio Pituitus.
Auxilia - They're like neutrophils, but faster and stronger. Otherwise....not much to say.
Upgrades to Physaio Veteran Auxilia.
Thymocyte - Now they're starting to look very Hellenic...whereas the Eosinophils are clearly Roman. That's right, the Physaio nation is a Hellenic-Romano nation...if thay made any sense. Anyways...they're better at fighting than the Basophils...and I believe I gave them jarids. Hmm....
Upgrades to Physaio Veteran Thymocytes.
Karyobricii - These guys are like the Praetorian cohort. They're the elite of the Physaio sword users.
Pituitus - I originally wanted to learn how having a specific type of troop could increase the player's stats, but with Warband incoming, I held off. Well...these guys don't have shields, but they have more power strike and are possibly the toughest of the Physaio.
Veteran Auxilia - They're like javelineers, except with light armor. Pretty dangerous.
Veteran Thymocytes - I think this is the time to do a Gerard Butler imitation. TONIGHT, WE DINE IN HELL!
