Well, there'd need to be tweaks to couched lances (so we can aim them across the fence between the jousters) and to the AI (so it doesn't ram its horse into the fence).

As far as I know, everything else is there.

For this to work, you have to be able to aim your lance, as has been suggest many times. Otherwise its a skillless game of random luck.

The problem with two people jousting each other, is that it seems somewhat arbitrary which one will get hit.

And usually in a real jousting tournement, if say you are on the right side, your shield is on your left arm and the lance is on your right. So you have to aim the lance to the left side, while that is impossible in M&B. (being on the left side with the shield on your left would be useless as you might assume).

For simplicities sake, then go on the left side, remember that the opponent comes from the other side, which shouldn't make a problem, unless he's a tough ass-kicking left-handed river pirate

I could definately get into some jousting. I suck with my lance as is, but this would be all the more reason to train. I'm more of an axe man, even on horseback.

Well more personal skill involved in the combat at any level would be welcome by me. Jousting very much included. I think that combat should be something we as players get used to rather than just being a case of levelling up.

More hit locations. Aiming points more precise and more dependent on timing and skill. (riding more difficult to master too maybe) all good stuff.

To stay firmly on topic. Jousting.. yes please!

I had to vote yes for this one too. The game looks so close to being able to support this as it is -- the only real necessary addition appears to be the ability to aim a couched lance -- and the sport of jousting is so obvious for the setting, it simply has to be done!
