Yea with firefox and image zoom plugin you can easily resize images just pressing right mouse button and wheel. Makes viewing easier without losing much quality, even though it's not as good as high resolution picture of course. (dunno about how it works with other browsers nowadays)
Yeah he is really good. It is amazing what beautiful images some people can summon just from their minds.
Many talented people over there. Too bad about fixed smallish image sizes on that site. One would think it couldn't take that much bandwidth or space to put high detail pictures there, but I guess they are just giving overview of those artists.
I haven't familiarized myself that well to art scene so I could pick favourites. Now that I am browsing those galleries it is really hard to put one above other, and maybe I shouldn't
They have their own style, approach and common denominator is that they are all very talented. I think I can appreciate most of them. Perhaps good artist is one who can make me feel something. Of course that depends whether artist and viewer has something common too, for example same knowledge of popular culture. Many topics seems to be picked from books and movies.
When viewer notices link he can think subconsciously "Oh hey, I get it!" and he instantly likes artwork more due to his earlier good experiences with theme, in addition to the beautiful picture.
And then some other artworks are just unearthly amazing which can blow your mind and carry you to the other worlds.
Doesn't anyone like Frazetta (original Conan books) anymore? Check out Michael Whelan too. He's probably my favorite fantasy artist. He did the covers for the original Elric (Michael Moorcock) and Saga of the Plliocine Epoch (Julian May) books.
