This isnt even a mod yet, apart from the simple map!

I say "yet", but i dont really mean it, basically we want to keep it in native so its accessible for everyone, but if the public want it, we may make a modification just for the game, I doubt it however.
 
That's the point, Warband can actually be turned into anything/everything. Look at games like Empire TW, Napoleon TW, and even the earlier total war games, they aren't even close to warband in terms of moddability.
 
Whoa! :shock: It's really great! :eek: I'm not sport fan (I'm kinda nerdy ;p) but it's looking really awesome!
 
I read the rules and did not see this in it, but shouldn't who ever has the javelin, should his team mates be able to "run interference"?  What I mean by that is shouldn't the be able to block incoming attacks for the guy with the javelin?
 
We did a bit of that when we were playing.

You can jump in front of the opponents blade to save your team mates if you wish. You will probably get awarded a foul if they kill you without the javelin.
There were no special rules for it though.
 
All about clever tactics really XD do you bother with your sword? run slightly faster not carrying it.. but you may need to use  it.. etc etc
 
Hmmmmm, I do like this game a lot, and I think its good that you are playing it. In fairness however I think you owe us (the bulldog clan) and in particular Bane, more that a little credit.
Maybe we could have an inter clan game (we already have one arranged with the PRT).

Also sorry to all the people we kicked from javlinball today. I know not all of you were messing around but it was a spontaneious game. We had only a couple amdins on and it turned into a mess. We will try and organise a non-spontanious public game with enough admins to remove only the people messing about. Hopefully.
 
The problem with this is that it needs some basic intellect, patience and disciplin from the participators which seems to be rare feats at the moment.

Also the jav is not visible enough for my old eyes. Maybe adding an on-hit trigger to it, that plays a particle effect when it hits the ground would help.
Could work just like the exploding arrow script, just with a bigger flame and without the lethality.

Also, I wonder if substituting the melee mode of the javelin with a second throw mode could be fun. The alternative throw could have a much slower shot speed but being alot more accurate. It could be used for short passes and precision goals.
 
Terrific idea. I think punching and kicking should be allowed for use by the team that currently isn't in possession of the javelin. Would make for some interesting fight-or-run tactical decisions in the scrum and not result in many deaths since everyone is so fleet-footed. It'd certainly make it a bit less of a jogging marathon. :idea:
