I've got some questions, can someone help me?

Lord Blade

Recruit
Okay, a few things...

First off, mounts.
I lost my mount in a fight.
Is there any way to get one from enemies? Or am I stuck buying a new one?
Cause I've seen one of my soldiers grab a horse from an enemy, and he now starts off mounted in every battle.
But when I take one, and the fight ends with me still mounted, I don't get to keep it.

Second, levels.
What's the max level in the game? Should I be trying to plan out how to develop my character early on? Or can I just build up as I see fit at the time?

Third, game difficulty.
What makes the game "harder"? Meaning, what started all the random groups suddendly having 20+ people in them?
Is it based on my level? Or is it from how long I've been playing?
Cause I'm having a hell of a time trying to survive right now. I've got myself and two other "heroes", as well as 3 other troops. And there's no way I can take on groups of 20-40 people. Especially when they'll all mounted and well armed.

Fourth, equipment.
How exactly does armor work? Is it a straight damage reduction when hit in the indicated location? Or is a percentage reduced?
And what's a good way to find better equipment? And... er... be able to afford it. :p

Fifth, money.
What's some good ways of making money? I was doing great fighting River Pirates and selling them as slaves. But now that that's finished, I can't seem to find any "weak" groups I can still beat up on. And I can't take soldiers from either force, or the groups of 20+ raiders.

Sixth, troops.
What are the better troops to get? What are the advantages and disadvantages to them?
I have a Caravan Master in my group. Is he of any use for anything?

Seventh, stats and skills.
What are the more useful skills to raise?

That's about all I can think of for now. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

1. Read forum.
2. No idea.
3. Based on your level, I'm almost sure. And for making game easier, move 'battle size' slider to the left. You'll be fighting less men at a time.
4. Straight reduction. And rather well-balanced in terms of realism too, I think.
5. Read forum  God knows there are a few thread with that question and answers.
6. Well, knights  No-brainer, really. Buy some peasants (or rescue some troops from prisoner trains), and train them with 'trainer' skill or get them into a few fights.
And for companions (Like Marnid or Borcha) - read forum.
Best advice I can give - read forum before you post questions! And use search - it's there for a reason

1.Read forum
2.?
3.I think it's about the enemy tactics
4.I've got the same damage with any armour
5.TRADE
6.KNIGHTS for melee and SHARPSHOOTERS for ranged
7.ALL

Dude, don't try to be a smartass here, the guy stopped posting in october.

Raz is correct.

This is one of the rare cases where Necroing a thread is NOT a good idea.

KhergitKiller, It is nice that you want to help - but in the future, please check the date of the posts you are considering replying to.

Thanks
