My 6 year old cat died.

I'm sad.

I'm only 15 so this sucks for me, and it's worse for my 14 year old sister.

So yeah, please no "omg you whiny *****" etc etc, just what are some ways to cope with the loss/**** to do to keep me busy.

And this is the first major pet loss we've experienced, so yeah.

Ever heard of the Rainbow Bridge?

That is, if you are religious.

If nothing else, take comfort in the fact your cat isn't suffering anymore.
If you haven't done anything with the body, you can have a sort of "funeral" for it.

I'm not religious, but it was one of those days where it makes me wonder as I had about 3 chances to see the cat before it kicked the bucket, but I denied each chance so my fault I wasn't there when it happened.

But uh, it died because it fell off of a washing machine (lame I know) and knocked itself out, then started having seizures and eventually a heart attack or something.

Anyway, it wasn't suffering until the fall which sucks.

It was only 6

It's unfortunate, yes. However, it was suffering. Now it's at comfortable rest for good.
I know how you feel about not going to see the cat before it died. The same thing happened to me, about my old dog.

Like I said, just remember the cat's fine now, and try the "funeral" thing I suggested, if possible. It can provide nice release to box and bury your pet.

That's an awful way to die. Though at least you know what happened to your cat, my old cat went for a walk around the farm and never came back.
One thing that did make me feel better though was making a little wooden cross and putting it in my cats sleeping spot in the garden.

I'm almost 100% positive we don't have the body, and that the Vet place took care of it (since my Mom didn't have it when she came home, and it's too late to ask her now).

But yeah, I'll deal with it in time I guess, just really sucks since we had it for a large part of my life and yeah

You should be happy it died, when they get old they are a pain in the ass. I have got a 19 year old cat that just won't die.

It's never too early to look for another pet.  Visit your local animal shelter, take your time, and you'll know when you've got the right one.

Or, if your family doesn't want another pet, and the shelter isn't far.. spend some time there anyway.  The animals they have need all the attention they can get, even if you can't give them a home.

No, I'm not a PETA whiner..

We have a kitten, but he's getting into his not quite adult, but not a kitten anymore phase as of now.

So there's still a nice pet around to keep me company I suppose.

It's not really worth it to blame yourself of something that you had no way of knowing beforehand.

And what Arch said.

Keep breathing, keep living, keep going on. That's the only way to cope. Have a good cry, make him a nice coffin, erect a 20-meter high statue in it's honour; whatever, just keep going on.

I'm not religious but that really helped. And I was really down.

Both of my dogs died within a month of each other when I was 11.

It ****ing sucked.

They live on in you.

One of my cats got hit by a car, and the other had diabetes. I found the best way to cope for each of them was to bury them.

They were twins

Oh well, that sucks, pal. I think my dog's death is getting closer, too.  Anyway, listen to some happy music, go out for a walk, sleep, even! Sleeping helps with most ****. What did the cat die of, by the way? I thought cats lived a good deal more than 6 years.

Perhaps if you spent less time with the jokes and more time reading, you'd know

To answer your question: Gravity.
