It's in EA... Should it excuse "everything"?

I think the OP might have issues that extend beyond how he feels about this game.

He's 'dropped it' 4 or 5 times in this thread, only to return a few minutes later and 'valiantly' claim that he's not dropping it anymore.

Stop engaging with him, it's EA - we all know there are issues. Most of us have made our own threads or posted on others. Don't give this guy anymore attention than he's already gotten.

This thread has nothing / very little to do with the game and more to do with him and his issues.

Did OP play Ark, Conan, or even Space Engineers EA? Compared to how those games were during EA, Bannerlord EA is in a decent state. yes, there are balancing issues, yes there are performance issues, but the game on the whole is fairly playable.

Ark (and Space Engineers too) EA had serious performance issues (think Bannerlord has leaky memory? Ark would straightup kill your PC). Conan's NPC AI was so bad, you could stand 2 feet in front of an enemy and they'd ignore you (and don't even mention defense thralls, they'd straight up ignore burglars looting your house).

It's EA. It is the barebones skeleton of what the game can become. Doesn't excuse everything, but it does mean we should not expect a finished and polished game. Look at how much Ark, Conan, and Space Engineers improved from the initial EA. You can't even recognize them (Although Ark in general still has unacceptable problems).

Compared to what I saw in Overgrowth EA, Bannerlord actually has quite a lot of meat on those bones. When I first bought the game it had nothing but a single half finished arena with enemies spawning in it every round, and every time you won they became bigger and stronger. If you were good, soon enough you'd face bunny hulks and die. But they made it to finish and I'm glad I was able to help.

The game ist being patched almost every day from 30th of March. It is imposible to complain for me at this point.

as others have mentioned, it seems that your entire post is not but rants... if you have provided constructive criticism and feedback, then people would have responded to you differently...

and as others have said as well, this game is in EA.. and you should know well what you are getting in an early access game..

well as someone who has played the beta since december(sporadically during december and january due to IRL commitments lol) and still play this game everyday now lately, this game is still far from full release...

  1. game still needs alot of optimization and bug fixes(especially for SP)
  2. MP still needs some balancing and tweaks
  3. SP is missing ALOT of features promised in dev blogs (like maybe more than 75% of promised features are not yet available on SP)

this game is likely a year away from being out of EA... then again this game is quite polished for an EA, compared to alot of EA's i've seen and played.. plus this game just entered EA like what 2 weeks ago lol....

on another conversation; as someone who has played in beta, IMO it seems that the devs main focus during beta was MP stability(well there was no SP for me anyways).. i was one of those who have random game freezes, where it requires force closing the game.. and that random freeze is even more prevalent when MP populations gets more than 30+... and now for me, i no longer freeze/crash in MP even with full 100 people playing... and now that the game is in EA, it seems devs main focus is for SP stability.. and since i also play SP half of my time in Bannerlord, i'm one of those who is experiencing ctd's ingame.. SP/MP missing features are likely sometime this year going to get added once the SP stability is locked down...

this.. end of discussion..

if you compare MnB2 compared to other EA games, well MnB2 blows them out of the water..

i honestly dont know game development, but i can say that money played a factor on why where they are at now... i've heard that the turkish government funded them with some money....

but you have to say for an early access game, MnB2 is polished compared to some other early access games out there..

the fact that both mp and sp are playable(for nearly 200k people) is impressive.. and even lets hypothetically say this game is abandoned; well it is playable enough that both mp and sp will give you alot of hours played on it... but as i originally mentioned, SP needs alot of work tobe desired and MP still needs alot of tweaking..

Reminder - it is every consumer's right to complain about the product he paid for and you have nothing to do with it and your pathetic 13 yo's responses like "bye" etc won't change it. If you like the game so much go and make a separate post where you praise the game or give some feedback if you really care for it. EA and disclaimers don't justify laziness. Don't tell me that 8 or even 10 years was not enough to at least make the game not crash randomly or to remove objects that are floating in the air. It's not a full of features RPG where it's difficult to test everything. If the game is unfinished why then sell it for the complete product price? Where are the last 4 years of polishing it? - the game was supposed to be released in 2016. Is it early access or open beta ? If i sell you a car for the full price with a disclaimer that something may not work and you won't be even able to start the engine or open the door will it be also alright because I warned you ?

MP: Haven't tried it yet. Looks frustrating! Sounds frustrating! Just a HUGE clusterF***.

Hmm. Maybe play it before you give an opinion ? You sound like 5 year old me not wanting to eat brocoli.

The fact that there are more users bumping up unnecessary threads like these and getting easy points, rather than being in the suggestion forums trying to highlight productive and important suggestions in order to improve the game sums it up good.

lol i hate to be that guy bumping this thread as well lol, but mods should lock this thread for not being of any value or providing quality feedback

There have been countless threads with good feedback and suggestions. Alpha/Beta testers spend tens of hours on preparing them and there was/is no response from TW. I for instance don't feel like repeating them especially because they didn't take them seriously when they were made by experienced and well known community members then why they would take seriously me.

While this was a beta, all those issues were forgiven. It was free.

Now this, we paid for. I paid happily for it. And more expensive games, with a far bigger budget, have been releaed in a worse state. So now they release an early access, which is a gamble. The novelty of the release wears off and you can't really pull another release off. To all intents and purposes, this is the release, the only one. I'd say they got it right.

But now TW have gotten a fat stack of money from all of us. They should use it well to polish and improve upon the game.

Precisely.

dude really??? it is not the consumers right to complain about things that are just as it was promised. Are your serious to think you could complain if you get what you bought? Its like buying a by the seller called "broken ps4" and then start to complain that you had a functioning ps4 in mind. No dude consumers can ONLY complain if promisses are not kept. You cannot say in general that you randomly complain about the product you fully aware bought like it was and was never advertised otherwise. Because why would you complain about a red wine you bought because you expected white wine. Really just think for just a second.

People are acting like Taleworlds haven't been trying hard enough since release to correct issues and make progress towards the development of the game, yet there's been a patch pretty much everyday. They're focused on stabilizing the game (and rightly so) before introducing content and making more complex improvements such as AI and Diplomacy..

Yes it does and yes it should but this doesn't mean you can't give constructive criticism, you can give it and you should give it that is the meaning of Early Access, play the game, give constructive criticism, let the devs patch/make it.

Where was it advertised that i will have issues with running the game with a pc that fulfills requirements, where was it said that i will encounter tens of random crashes, where is the greatly improved combat where sometimes i need 8 hits and the other time i need 2? And don't lecture me about how to play because im experienced player from wb and i played beta as well and im fully aware of how combat mechanics work (or not).

It's to be expected of EA. And yes, it says so in every EA disclaimer right there on the Steam page.
