It's A Small World

That's what I was thinking the other day as a Dark Knight party followed me from Sargoth to Wercheg. Along the way other bad guys tagged along for awhile: river pirates, mountain bandits and Swadian deserters.

Tracked clear across the continent? These guys were coming down on me like the rent!

Is the world too small? Or are we moving too fast?

Hmm, maybe the world is too small. Or maybe the groups just follow you for too long. And I thought these guys just liked me very much..

If you take on one group, why does the other one just wait for the battle to finish? Instead of joining in (assuming the battle timeframe is longer than their travel time to cover the distance).

Good question. Both friendly and hostile parties should be able to join a battle. There are some questions though about how the battles would be ended. For example, if more people keep joining both sides than die/get knocked unconsious the battle would take a really long time to finish.

Also, why are the two parties allready batling allways so far from eachother? I could sit on the world map for half a day, join a battle and still both groups start 200-400m apart.

Yea, I fully and totally agree...while in combat, time should progress at a slow pace, and any outsiders that pass by should have the ability to join in...

Mmm...imagine your group vs bandits and then black khergit raiders joining in, taking advantage of the situation ending up in a 1vs1vs1 massive fight :p...or when you've almost beaten a group of sea raiders when suddenly they are reinforced by another group...

That is immension, folks...and that would give immense challenge to even those that have lotsa knights/hired blades and whatnot else in their armies...

That definitely needs to be taken care of. If I'm being chased by Dark Hunters right outside the friggin Vaegir capital, isn't it a War Party's job to do something about that?

Be a great idea, just make it so when you defeat the party you were originally fighting, you can leave, if your fast enough to escape the new party, good for you. If your so set on prisoners or loot, you can just carry on the slaughter, more goodies at the end anyway.
