It is about trading...once again.

After a few games in nearly all parts of the known world I figured there is no place like the baltic sea. You become rich in seconds. Best thing is if you are from a part of the world that's no hostile to all those samagothian, prussian and what not rebels all you need to care about is the common bandit, if at all. If you simply stay in your ship you don't even have to do that.
Well, I played a bit in the mediterran regions and although you can make money with wine, salt and date fruits there it takes lake forever since the distances are way longer.
Trading in the french or english country is annoying. You simply can't make money. You can buy iron here and there but chances are you'll be slowed down like forever until you finally find a better price which usually is just a little better. Trading leather or grain is just hillarious.

Why am I telling you that? Just because I would like to have it a bit more balanced. You don't need to become rich like in the baltic sea, at least that would be a good reason that the Hanse existed. But does it need to give you that much money? Ok, why not, but why so little money almost everywhere else? The wages became higher now (I am talking about the wages in the SVN-version) and it is quite hard to pay them if you don't have the money. The income for the village is neat but it pays off for like 25 men. Lower tier troops, of course.
I am not into economy and trading that much and that's probably the reason why I am posting about this. I just want to be able to get my game going without having to travel to the same places all the time. I don't even like to escort caravans to the end of the world. If so I could just go to the baltic and make my money there. Ok, caravans give experience, they are a good way to get your game going actually but I still think that it should be a bit easier to make money without travelling very far.
I actually don't really have a clue how to do this. Let's have some more places like Gdansk and Königsberg all over the map. Greater price differences in general, anything that doesn't force you to leave your country and start the game by making money just enough to have the dye works in Smolensk & Chernigov, the Oilpress in Trebizond and the Wine production in Tripoli.

I didn't wanted to spam the suggestion thread any further. Many good ideas have been lost to the depth of that thread.
May be it would be a good idea and easy enough to realise to let the capitols generally be the place where there is a good chance to have higher prices, in other words the place to go if you want to sell stuff.

Is it in the end just me?

It wasn't my plan to have this post this long, sorry about that.

Greetings

Edit:
Well,
I didn't wanted to spam the suggestion thread any further. Many good ideas have been lost to the depth of that thread.

shouldn't mean that this is a good idea, btw.

Edit #2:

Would it be possible to edit the trading skill so you'll get the best prices in nearby towns? Even better: to have an option - Best prices in all towns or nearby towns. [Trading Skill - The most useless thing of the game if ye ask me.]

I just know more about the Baltic and the trade there than other areas, the mod was originally focused on the Baltic sea and I guess that still shows.  At least I didn't add amber yet

The main focus has been combat really because this is what I believe this game can do the best.  Without the combat the game is really just mediocre...  The questing and trading are somewhat secondary and will have to wait.

I fully agree. You mentioned that just a few days before, I still remember. This is why I thought capitols would be a good idea and somehow easy to do but if it's easy or not...no clue and I don't wanna argue anyway.
