Sergeant at Arms

Why is it that whenever we take a castle of an enemy lord no sooner does a half a dozen of his buddies show up to sack "your" new fief? Then on top of that, they may only have 30 or 40 in their contingent, per Lord. So if you have say 45 in your group, the lords, scatter and run. You cannot catch them, especially if the majority of the enemy is on horse back like Khergits - they will always seem to be .1 speed faster than your group. If you drop some troops below the enemies amount though...look out. Now those half dozen lords turn, and come after you, and what pisses me off is they always seem to travel faster - even if they are mostly on foot! So what gives? Why is this happening?
Why can't their be a trigger that is introduced that when you are patrolling an area and the Lords see that you have a large force present they will leave that fief or area alone for say a week and try to come back and sack it at a later time. Can this not be added to the game? It is so frikking frustrating that a flaw in the game mechanics enables the game to pretty much cheat.
