ISSUE: Garrison lose due to negative food/prosperity

I noticed when prosperity gets too high food starts to decrease and then prosperity starts to decrease due to lack of food and then it stops at a point of equilibrium and turn around. This really bothered me at first. I even tried to buy food from other cities to try to fix the food issue. Then, I just let the game figure itself out, but during a siege I saw that my garrison was decreasing due to lack of food. I was losing some top tier units. Really frustrating.

1. Can someone explain this whole prosperity and food relationship mechanic?
2. I guess it makes since for garrison to decrease when the city lacks food, so can I address this food shortage in anyway? Like keeping food in Stash for your garrison?
3. Other than the "manage this town" window, is their any other way to influence these characteristics? I already maxed out every building in this window.
4. Is there anything the player can do this help like manually supplying food?

Losing garrison like this is really frustrating. In war they come at you with an army of 500+ and here my garrison loses 10 soldiers a day due to food that I can easily supply. A lot of people already mentioned better event messages/notifications when your settlements are under siege. I totally agree.

Also, you get stupid amount of gold when defeat an enemy army. Through my 3 wars with Vlandia I netted over 2m in loot. Ridiculous. I breezed by early game by attacking weak Battanian lords when they were about to fall. Made about 200k in gold. Eventually, you will get to a point where you have too much money, I just did not expect it to find this fast and easy.

I feel like the money issue is a glitch for some of you because I've destroyed about a dozen armies from Vlandia and Western Empire by joining with other Battania armies. I've never seen that kind of money gain. I think in total today I made 50k from faction warfare from selling most everything, except the horses, and about 150 influence from victories and donating prisoners.

But yes I'd love to know how to handle the food mechanic. I just got a castle and it has -1 food production. I can't see any way to change it. So you're telling me it'll start murdering my high tier troops I put there? Great.

The way I've been dealing with this is ignoring the prosperity buildings and adding strictly to +food buildings. Seems prosperity is directly linked to food for whatever reason. Hard to deal with if you conquer a settlement that already has +prosperity buildings. Keeps everyone fed but not so prosperous I guess. Hoping this will get looked at.

I tested a few things beyond villages. You can manually buy food from another city, then sell that in the market of your city. This should boost it the next time food is calculated. i do not know how sustainable this is. You can also store food in your stash. Going to do this during peace time. Make sure you buy food from city you do not own. You can really sabotage their garrison this way. I bought all the food in market and saw it go from -14 to -82...

So, I've been buying grain from my villages thinking it's helping to give them money... is it actually taking food from them? Do they not calculate that they need to hang on to food instead of sell it? Or does this strictly apply to cities.

I've only dealt with cities, but ya, the mechanic seems broken. They will sell all their food and starve to death. You can buy food elsewhere and sell it to the city, but that's all you'll be doing.

A feature should be added where your governor can use a treasury you could deposit funds into in order to automagically buy food. Either that, or unteather the food amounts to the food in the trade store.

This 100% needs to be looked at urgently. My Militia Garrison at the City of Ortysia is 100 out of 500 men and my food is still in the negative and bringing prosperity down which in turn brings food down. I cannot believe I'm meant to just wait it out until the prosperity drops enough and equals out food. How am I meant to defend a city with 100 or less militia. It's just stupid. I've literally bought thousands of food and dumped it in only for it to be gone a few days later and bring food back to a negative. Every building is level 3 and I have every law passed to help and I also have irrigation active every day. Its impossible, yet another balancing issue that wasn't noticed!!

Also wanted to mention troop quarters and personal refuge. They used to act like my reserves in Viking Reforged. Now I have no where safe to store my troops since the Castle and City garrisons have food/prosperity balancing risk.
