Is turning off 3D graphics possible?

Hi guys,

I am a very new player and just bought Mount and Blade 2 yesterday. Soon after I started playing the game, I realized my GPU was over used (1400MB/128MB in low performance), I know this sounds ridiculous as I actually got a 8GB gralhic card, but it only supports 128MB in 3D rendering (my graphic card is Intel UHD Graphics 620).

Apart from buying a new graphic card, could aomeone suggest me what things I should do to solve the issue?

That's not a graphic card, that's a graphic chipset, usually found on laptops and sometimes on motherboards for desktops.

If your GPU has 8Gb VRAM, then you should plug your monitor on this instead of your motherboard.
If you're talking about RAM, it's not the same thing, RAM is not used only for graphic calculation, but to store datas for quick use, that's where textures and stuff are stored while you play, for instance, to prevent your PC from reloading it from the HDD every time.

RAM is some additionnal memory you have, it's small cards. VRAM is the memory your GPU can use.

Sorry it's a bit hard to explain it in english as it's not my main language.

Anyway, UHD Graphics aren't graphic cards, they are far less powerful

Thanks for your reply, sorry I mixed up a lot of computer terms as English isn't my first language too

It is actually the dedicated video memory I think if I didn't spell it wrong. It is not the problem of RAM. I just checked my graphic details and it says I have,

Total available graphics memory: 8264MB
Dedicated video memory: 128MB
System video memory: 0MB
Shared system memory: 8136MB

So I guess it should be related to the dedicated video memory?

You do not have a graphics card, you are using integrated graphics which is a part of your CPU, which shares resources with system RAM (not efficient at all for video memory) and only has a tiny amount (128MB as you can see) of dedicated video memory.

I am sorry but there is nothing you can do except getting a new computer/laptop that has a dedicated GPU. Because what you have is quite low end.

And no, you cannot just buy a GPU to put in your laptop. 99% of laptops don't have upgradeable graphics unless if you have one of those $3000 "built for gaming" laptops and even most of those don't allow it.

Uhh... are you sure you actually have a graphic card? Cuz that to me looks like you just got a 128 mb onboard chipset. That 8Gb is just shared RAM. You need an actually graphic card.

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I think I have relocated the memory registry editor and I hope it will be fixed. Thanks for letting me know that I shouldn't buy a GPU otherwise I may go for it.

Hi,

it should be a chipset instead of a card. I am a computer amateur so sorry for messing up the terms.

Yes it is a chipset. Meaning your computer doesn't have a card. Bannerlord requires a card (GPU) to run properly. There's nothing you can do to run Bannerlord smoothly without a graphic card.

So your only option is to buy one, if you have a desktop computer. You can't buy a GPU for your laptop because it just doesn't work that way. In other words, you can't play Bannerlord on your desktop. And no, you can't relocate the memory either. To put it simply, it's like trying to drive a 10 tons truck with a lawn mower engine. No matter how many fuel you put into the tank, it's not gonna move.

Your only options are:
1) Buy a desktop with a graphic card.
2) Buy a laptop that comes with a graphic card.

I just want to make 100% sure that we all know what you are working with. If you open your device manage, go to display adapter, what do you see there? Can you send us a screenshot?

I am attaching a picture since the English terms might make it tricky for you to find on your computer.

Judging from the graphic thingy a notebook.

Could have been me 10 years ago, now i read into all this computercrap every 5 years before i order my new almost-high-end-pc and forget everything as soon as possible.
So i am not of any help here i guess, but good luck.

Your "GPU" doesn't have 8 gigs of VRAM... it shares memory with the rest of the computer (that is, main RAM).

Your rig is nowhere near capable of running this game properly... get a proper rig.

PC Gaming is a hobby, like project cars. You work a little, you learn a little, you tinker a little, you play a little.

Or you save all the money you can for a couple of years, learn enough to buy a good car and enjoy driving until its time for the next one.

Oh wow. That's... Yeah. To be fair, you can get this game running on computers waaay below the minimum requirements listed on Steam. With the graphics at minimum (including bodies) and battles at 200, you can get it to work on some really old potatoes, but no dedicated GPU at all?

Well, the chances of you running this are slim to none. Even if you get it working graphically, the CPU, not the GPU is the major bottleneck in battles. The UHD 620 usually comes with quad-core laptops so you might be good, but you didn't list any other specs. But the fact you only have 8GB RAM total is... Worrying.

You're going to need to go into BIOS and change the amount of RAM dedicated to video from 128 to 2048 and NOTHING ELSE. You should be able to find a guide on how to do that in your native language. But my advice is: DON'T. You could easily fry your motherboard.
