so ive done the questline ending up with the cossack (now called something Rus), the last task i did was "from sea to sea" i ended all other factions and when i killed the last, some guy came up and took my black mace. now what? after about 1200 in-game days am i done?

Yes you finished Cossack story.
You can start new game and do 2 other stories.

Hi! I just got the 'From Sea to Sea' quest, but it doesn't explain what I have to do now. And in my last talk with Barabash he only told me to await for new elections, where he would use his influence in my favour. But he didn't say anything about conquering the remaining factions! Is this what I'm supposed to do?

It is translation typo in Ru-version there is an extra text explaining that you have to conquer whole map.
