Is this issue from Warband fixed?

I’m not a 500+ hr player and I’m not looking for an in-depth explanation or even any at all as far as Warband is concerned. I just wanted to know if Bannerlord fixed an issue I had with Warband.

I got Warband only 2 years ago in preparation of Bannerlord’s release but I had a reoccurring issue that drained my enjoyment away. I could get situated well enough early game with an army that would scare bandits but as soon as I got into one big, relatively well matched fight ending in many dead/injured on my side, everything would go downhill fast.

Groups of bandits or enemy vassals (no longer fearing me) would jump me continuously with no chance to outrun or fight them all. Continuous fights, even victories, would drain me and eventually cost me my whole army, my items, and money. Rebuilding would be brutal too if I couldn’t quickly regain a big enough army to scare bandits.

Maybe I was doing something wrong, focusing on the wrong things, but it would only take one big, inevitable fight to ruin everything.

Is this downward spiral still an issue in Bannerlord?

Stop fighting deep into enemies territory, they added formation, so you can better control your guys (must be fast micro management). And now you can add horses into your inventory for faster movements (carrying prisoners and wounded still slow you down)

The speed system has a new factor now: the horses in your inventory i reccomend you keep 50 or more spare horses in your invetory it give you much more speed and gives you more inventory space

Hell, I carry more than 100 mules for cartage and another 200 spare horses for trading fodder - although I like their speed boost so I never sell but 5 at a time! Influencing nobles? I give them free horses.

The answer is yes, there are many ways to prevent this from happening now. You are able to make your party faster than enemies and maneuver through the overworld map while rebuilding your forces. Recruiting system is faster now as well.

The bandits are less likely to all gang up on you in big groups now. In Warband, practically every enemy group in view would join into the fight so you could really get hosed if you weren't careful in bandit-infested areas. Now allied groups need to be a lot closer before they jump into the fight, so its not so bad in that way. There are a lot more bandits overall though, with hideouts popping up all over the map so you still have to be careful. As others have said, map speed is handled by horses now, so you need pack animals to carry your stuff and riding horses to carry your men. You should try to have at least as many extra horses as you have non-mounted troops.
