Is this a Possible Weapon tweak? NOT warband

Would it be possible to make the game allow to to switch a ranged weapon to a throwing weapon or vice-versa like in warband?
I can't stand warband till Sword of Damocles get ported over to it, and I'd love to be able to hit someone with my gun if they get too close or throw a pitchfork if I found a better weapon...
At the very least, if no one can do this, can someone please tell me how to take items from one mod and put them into another?
(woot underpowered lightsaber slashing at dudes in Medieval armor!)
 
For the lightsaber: find the BRF its in.
1) Export it as an .obj, import it into a new BRF,
    or
2) just use that BRF containing the lightsaber (you need ALL the texture files for that BRF though)

-Find the texture the light saber uses (if you use a BRF with lots of meshes in it, you have to get all the textures)
-Put the BRF in your modules 'Resource folder', and the texture in your modules 'textures'
-add the appropriate "load_resource =light_saber" (light_saber depicts the name of the BRF file) in your module.ini
-add a new item in itemkinds1.txt, and make its mesh the lightsaber mesh.
