Is there any point in improving relations with christian clergy? What are the bonuses of +100 relations with them?
They don't seem to provide any special shock troopers and I don't see much benefits in dealing with them. Monastery wine is still expensive even at +35.

yes, like for example you can force villages to convert if your relation is high enough (besides other factors plus luck). It also affects which quests you can do. And so on.
