IS there anyway to make Mount&BLade run faster?

I have 17 running processes in task manager, turned the textures down to 20, turned all the video options off and battle size to 40%. I am currently use a 2.66ghz processor, 64mb 345M graphic card and 448 mb ram with a 60 gb harddrive, I get about 3-6 fps in battles and it is really starting to annoy me, also I turn up the priority of mount&blade to high, if that does anything. Also it's an HP ze5500 laptop if your wondering and yes, the power is plugged in. Help would be nice.

Look in configuration and set the following:

texture_detail = 50

disable_shadows = 1

show_framerate = 1

max_framerate = 60

use_pixel_shaders = 0

Have you modified you config file? There can be made lots of changes to improve the fps.
EDIT: Oh I fail. I was late :cry:

That's stupid, I have a computer about half as good as yours with all graphic options on full, and I've never dropped below 20 fps I don't think... lol

That has to be the strangest setup I've seen. 2.66ghz and 448mb ram?

Poor system preformance could be an issue with your ram. I'm guessing a 256, a 128, and a 64mb stick? That could give you problems. If you can afford it you really should get the 128 and 64 out, and put in a matching 256. I've read a lot of stuff about conflicts in mixing ram types. I guess its like mixing battery types. A lot of the time nothing goes wrong, but when it does, its a mess.

But yeah, strange setup, very strange. Laptop? But I've only seen one and two ram slots in Laptops usually,... oh well. Hope its working right now.

That integrated graphics card seems to be the problem, it's sucking system RAM and processing time hence why you only have 448mb of available RAM and poor performance.

If your not running a laptop you might want to consider a dedicated graphics card, even a bottom of the range one, especially if you play any other PC games.

That's really weird, I run M&B on two machines one of which is top notch 2g ram, 256 mb Vid, etc.. and I also run it on my crappy laptop which is basically 10x worse then most PC's and the game runs fine.

As someone mentioned you're probably cluttered, and your PC isen't going at MAX performance.

Have you done the basics, like cleared up space? defragment? etc... seems to fix things for me when I have issues. Also spyware, did you check your PC?
