Is there a way to organise bots by unit type within a formation?

One thing that really irks me about Warband and it's mods is that, aside from companions, your units tend to line up their formations by spreading themselves evenly across the line. This is all nice and good for medieval-styled mods and the Native module, but for more modern eras, it doesn't really make sense.

So here's my question: Is there a way to preset your formations, so that 2 or more unit types set under the same battle group form up with only one troop kind on the left, and only one on the right?

(For instance, having the melee units on the right, and the ranged on the left, while all grouped as "infantry")

Its possible but isn't particulary easy/fast to do.

look for Formations OSP or the VC modsys. You can create your own custom formations with any rules you want to apply, but that requires some medium-to-hard coding and math skills.

Your case you should try something easy first, like organizing certain troops on the same division and then give lots of spread out orders (so they will form just 1 line)
