Is there a way past the limit of 40 people on screen? I have a decently powerful computer, and it would be sweet if we could raise it a bit. Anyone know how?
And have you yet encountered parties large enough to actually be able to see a difference? I'm guessing not. Go find a war party with 50+ troops and have a decent number of troops in your party, and you should see the difference pretty easily.

and if he doesn't see the difference he would atleast feel it. with 120 soldiers on the field the game slows to a crawl even on my 4400+ with 2GB ram and a GF7800GTX (when there are lots of horses around, if its mostly infantery it works ok).
a good idea is to put it at around 70-80 if you have a good machine. (im usually running at 55 unless im trying to take a screenshot of a large battle).
ofcourse a larger battlesize also means that those swadian deserters will put alot more holes in your skull
