Is there a way to access inventory gear during sieges?

Last time I played, my troop moved into a castle to heal up after a tough battle with Swadians, but the castle got under siege from the whole Vaegir army in that time. What followed was absolutely boring. My char didn't have a bow or crossbow in the weapon slots, and  the Vaegirs stood down there to get shot, only to be replaced by new troops, who shot back for a while, until they ran out of ammunition. Rinse and repeat. I went doing other stuff during this "exciting" exchange, and after one hour, the situation was still pretty much the same. It would have been much nicer if I had been able to get to my ranged weapons. I went back to a different save at that time, as one hour of doing nothing was enough for me.

During battles, you have this chest to access your other gear. Is there anything like that available during sieges?

They should have included siege inventory access , imo, but it is not present in unmodded native.  One of TheMageLord's tweaks (see sticky in Zendar) makes it possible to access it during sieges, but directly rather than through a chest.  Not quite as immersive, but a whole lot easier to implement.

Thanks. Yes, there is no practical reason why I should not be able to access my inventory. I had enough time to go sightseeing. I could have taken a bath . Anyway, thanks for pointing out that fix.
