Is there a reason that their pricing it at £10 more than Warbands original release?

I mean, I am in love with this franchise and I am so god damn hyped for bannerlord...but £40 is alot. Especially considering that warband was £10 less, and very hyped for it's time. I thought they'd make the same price range as they always had, however, it's suddenly so god damn expensive, I feel like it's an EA game.

Ehrr... I think you're just whinging tbh. If you want to compare BL to WB pricewise then WB was made by 2 people, BL made by 60. It's more expensive to make than WB was.

Considering how much better Bannerlord is, the prince should be double what Warband cost. Let's just be happy that it isn't even full price for a AAA game.

That's not a fair comparison though. Warband was amazing back then. It was 10 years ago, and if you wanna inflate the price then inflate the difference in resource and ability which can go into creating a game. It's not like they could use the engine that bannerlord runs on. Bannerlord is only where it is because of warband. It's the NEXT warband. So maybe they should keep the prices roughly the same

60 Euros was the normal price in 2010. In 2010 games like RDR, Blacks ops, Fallout new vegas came out.

Be happy you're not paying 60

Great, except mount and blade wasn't as big as red dead, Fallout or Call of duty! None of which are made by taleworlds! I think it's weird that they've changed their pricing range, which has always been roughly £30. Besides, Skyrim was only £40 and it was an AAA...

You are aware that the game is way more complex now than it was in 2009, right? As such, it still is far fron finished. Wb took at most 5 years to complete, taking into account the improvements made over and through M&B. Also inflation. They are a bigger company now and can charge more.
They are a private business and can set prices to whatever they want, be it fair or not.
What do you expect? Wanna pay 98% off of £$€9,90 on the day of release and still whine that they didnt give it to you for free?

"Free healthcare" is one thing. Free intellectual property is another.

...First of all, You're free healthcare example in unnecessary because you still pay, it jsut comes through your taxes instead. Secondly,Even if they'd been a big company backi then. They cant break an engines limitations, so it's not like they could have made bannerlord in 2010.

"Wanna pay 98% off of £$€9,90 on the day of release and still whine that they didnt give it to you for free? " Doesn't make sense. No one said anything about 98% off a tiny price...If you look at AAA games, they always have a general price on launch according to their franchise. Every fallout game has started at £40 on release. Even though there's a huge difference between fallout 3 and fallout 4.

Most new games with a significant studio release their games full price. I don't know what you're trying to say here. If you don't think its worth the money for the content just don't buy.

A lot of people here believe the content you're getting from bannerlord is worth the money. If you don't simply don't buy it.

Even if they raised the price to 70€ I would still buy it tbh. Already waited so long. Also most AAA Games release tons of microtransaction and revolve their gameplay around those. And content gets cut for DLC.

I play M&B series since 2011, spent countless hours in it. Looking at the TW history, how they supported their games, I am pretty sure B will serve me at least that long.
For me personally £40 for 10 years of entertainment is a bargain.
I would gladly pay them £60, because I trust them and would like to see M&B 3 one day.

I get that times are hard...but what a cheap you are. 50$ or even 50€ is so cheap for a game people will play 10 years, several thousand of hours. You are a rat dude. It's like nothing. It would be 200€ i would buy it without hesitation.

just dont buy it if its not worth for you. i woud pay triple actually.

I've shelled out a fair amount of dosh for AAA releases, the vast majority of them sit in my shelves collecting dust or uninstalled in my Steam library, and yet the indie game I bought for $20 all those years ago has brought me far more joy and satisfaction than any of them and it has stayed installed ever since I first downloaded it. I would say that's some of the most value I've even gotten out of $20. So even if Bannerlord was only a slight improvement over Warband, forty quid is a price I'd very easily pay.

I payed 60 euros for rdr2 pc and feel like I've already done everything in this game after 63 Hours same with battlefield and other "famous games". So far I have payed nothin to play the closed beta of bannerlord and I already have 200h of playtime. I think you get what I'm saying

For me term "AAA game" lost its meaning long time ago.
What AAA game means nowadays anyway? Big budget? Many people working on it? Yes and yes. Quality of product? Mostly not.
Look at latest Bethesda achievements. Look at EA Games and FIFA games. Ubisoft with reskins of their top games.

Those games are worth the price?

AAA games now are mostly created from "safe" parts. Those parts are used in many other games of this class. They are safe which means, they were good once and people liked it, so it stayed that way untouched for many years. Those parts and that kind of thinking killed creativity and uniqueness. It is like MCD Cheeseburger. It needs to be "tasty" for most people, but it is still, an unhealthy, ****ty, plastic fast food. It is still just a bread with cheese and something that is pretending to be meat.

So with this comparison in mind, again, are those games worth the price?

Today, many indie games are much better than "AAA" games, because they are exploring creativity, they provide new mechanics and freshness.
They are getting rid of this ugly stench that we know from AAA games.

So I guess, Bannerlord will give x10 of hours playtime more than any AAA game combined, like RDR (the one that I actually like), AC, CoD, FIFA, DS etc. etc.
But in all this we need to remember that TW its not indie studio. And that is even better. Good sized studio with not that small budget and with this level of creativity? Heaven is closer now today!

So yeah, Bannerlord is well worth the price and even way more.
Advice to you? Don't buy it if you don't agree. Just simple as that.
