Is the pick worth it?

I'm talking of course of the multyplayer weapon of the Rohdock faction.
It seems to have less reach then the cleaver and have the same damage so I was wondering what are its advantage... I guess since it's a piercing weapon it's better against armoured opponents, but is the piercing effect worth having less reach?

Reach is best in multiplayer because people will stay away from you further,also this aint the multiplayer board.
