OK WELL I HATE TO SAY THIS BUT I AM WORRIED...

I JUST BOUGHT THE REGISTRATION KEY ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO STOP PLAYING M&B SINCE. EVEN THOUGH THE GAME IS INCOMPLETE, I THINK IT HAS CAPTURED THE INTENSITY OF ARMED MELEE COMBAT RATHER WELL. WHEN I GET LANCED AND TOSSED OR I GET BLUDGEONED OFF MY HORSE I REALLY FEEL LIKE I GOT MY BUTT KICKED AND I BEGIN CURSING AND SHOUTING SO BAD THAT MY WIFE FREAKS OUT AND HAS TO LEAVE THE ROOM.

Oh hey look I had caps lock on what do ya know? I hate people that type all caps but I don't feel like retyping all that so, SORRY!

So the point I am getting to here is that it looks like the last (and current) version was released in april or earlier- correct me if I am wrong because I build upon this statement as we go on here... Looking at all the mods, I am thinking that the modders are working harder/faster then the designers? I know I read that they (developers) moved but I also read that they are devoted full time to M&B. Also on the main site it says there is a new release every few weeks, but april is more then a few weeks ago.

Is M&B just some front for an internet crack head to support his/her habits? Have I inadvernently donated to terrorists or the illuminati? Is this game ever going to be finished? Has anyone personally met the developers and confirmed that they are going to finish this thing, or is it a weekend hobby that will leech money from hopeful bright eyed gamers for years until the entire M&B community pulls their heads out of their spirited chargers and revolts?

I can't really see 1 developer finishing this game, but I am not a computer game developer nor do I have any developing skills (I let the store develop my photos, even.) This game needs a story (I am for hire in this department,) NPCs, cityscapes, urban combat, stalking (Tom Clancy Style,) night battles during THE NIGHT (imagine that,) and about a billion other things that would make it anywhere near a commercially developed product. But I am glad that someone finally got it right and made this game (finished or not)- because it hits on some of the most important things in gaming. I AM NOT SUCH AN IDIOT THAT I CAN NOT BE TRUSTED TO DETERMINE THE DIRECTION I SWING MY SWORD thank you very much for treating me accordingly. I am sick of being treated like an incompetent witless moron with no attention span by games, movies, music, and media. I like long games (Operation Flashpoint,) I like long books (Wheel of Time,) I like long movies (7 Samurai,) I like long compositions (Alan Hovhaness) and I hate flashing beeping news channels with droning bang flipping nasal lodged reporters.

hard poll question, its not finished, and I dont think it ever will be like the elder scrolls series.

I actually think that M&B is much more addictive and more engaging (norwegian: engasjerende) for the common gamer. Ive tryed Morrowind for a few weeks now, and I cant find any thread or story at all, its all doing tasks for others and try to not break the law etc. not funny. and the fight system is rather crappy too.
In M&B: if u hit someone, u hit someone. not as in morrowind, were u can stand all day trying to beat up some flying monster, your sword hits it, but it dont take damage, I cant see it miss, but it does.
M&B is a loose game, you can live exactly as you want. raiding caravans, killing bandits or do some small quests, there is no crappy magic or men whit crocodile heads. just people.
I know that u can do much the same in Morrowind, but it isnt funny.

M&B is an original game, not a copy of something else.

I've also wondered what the gameplan is for this game. Clearly, this game does certain things VERY well (mounted combat). But the game is also very lacking in many departments (storyline).

With us being at 0.710, the end (v1.0? if that is the end) is awfully near and IMHO, there is a LOT that needs to be done to make this a completed game. I don't think you are alone in being the slightest bit worried.

Btw, I sincerely doubt how someone with such a low attention span could have gotten through Wheel Of Time but thats a discussion for another time. There is no point in adding extensive amounts of content around an incomplete structure. The new versions we get now tend to be rather buggy once they're released, so imagine the amount of bugs we'd have if there was a huge world with an extensive storyline and not just the little playtesting arena we have now.

The story and roleplaying is always added at the end of a game, and 70% isn't far enough. I do not think a story is even necessary, background and dialog is very easy for modders to add in by themselves.

I am appalled at this thread.

This guy isn't being a forum troll. He made several erroneous statements, but admitted freely that his knowledge on those areas was lacking. Granted, he made several bad moves for his first post, yet not everyone has the same beliefs of what is proper and what isn't. There are a few things that a moderator needs to correct him for, yet now to do so, will just reinforce the flames that he was receiving.

His entire thread was generally trying to get info about the game. He wanted to know if it is supported properly or not. He used a horrid analogy, granted ... but there will be no flaming like this again. Not as long as I'm here, anyways.

You have been corrected. The gam,e is being updated at a very steady rate and I'm not entirely sure where you got the month of April from, but your source is out-dated.

It has made it this far with just one developer (with help from his wife, Ipek), but Armagan I believe mentioned that now that they had an official office for TaleWorlds ... they would be looking at bringing other programmers in to help Armagan out.

I'm going to catch hell over defending you this way, so please don't make me regret it. If you post, please try and post intelligently, clearly, and without offensive statements.

Yes, Morrowind sucks. The scenery is beautiful but that's all. Sometimes I think it should have been marketed for teenage girls.

I hated morrowind as well. I even bought the damn game and really tried to like it, but the silly swamp-like world inhabited by some sort of dark elf creatures and all kinds of annoying lizard thingies just wasn't my thing. If only the world could have been made a little more interesting and a little less annoying, I might have enjoyed it, but not the way it is.

Yes, and one of the games selling points is the 'richness' of the world.

You can go to the Elderscrolls site and there are some sad people who spend their lives reading about the 'Lore' of Vvardenfell, or Cyrodil (or however it is called). There have been millions of books written about it and people download mods with just the books, they have to walk all over the island looking for them so they can read this boring rubbish.

And the funniest thing: according to an interview from when Morrowind was being developed a fan asked a question about the Lore. The dev replied he doesn't even know what the races are and that the people writing the 'background' don't take it seriously, put in "any bull**** they want".

And Bethesda has a reputation of respecting its fans...

That kinda figures. Morrowind had some pretty good potential, but the poor background and the silly world took care of that. Let's try and make sure that doesn't happen with M&B.

I think I do know where he got the april stuff: from the website´s "news" section. The "news" section starts at april and has no "news" about any new version since then, so the guy is lead to think that since april, no new version has come out.

That brings an important subject: the urgent need to update that old, forgotten website. We all know that the forum is currently the place to look for news, info and etc, but a newcomer does not have to know that. A new buyer looking at that website is probably going to think the same thing this guy did: that the game has not been updated in a long time.

So, my point is: update the site or take it down completelly and keep only the forum becouse that outdated site is bad propaganda for M&B

Anyway, the guy is acutally trying to get some info and he is even saying he loves the game and its a great, adictive game and etc, he just has some rude manners and is trying to be funny/clever. He dint really deserved all the flamming, a good silence would be enough.

Ah, and yes, Morrowind sucks. Its beautifull, looks promising and all, is even fun for a while, but then it just gets repetitive, irritating and uninteresting. A huge waste of time indeed.
