The actual meta is pure cancer. Adjust mouse on high dpi and turn like a hurricane while swinging.

It's pretty simple to fix, while striking reduce significantly the turn rate.

Playing warband after Bannerlord is really difficult for me beacuse I overestimate my turnrate while swinging, and the enemy ends up circling around to my back everytime. It is the most noticable diffrence between the 2 games combat-wise for me, and while I don't think the turnrate needs to be nerfed to warband levels it still warrants at least a slight downturn.

No. You can simply play against it. Just block right, dont get kited, hit them in the back. This is not a problem.

Ah, c'mon let them cry, they'll find something else which is annoying in WB soon.

Two handed s keying is a problem though

Especially when they have crush-through. If you chase them/pressure them they can do their s key/ballerina hocus pocus -which sucks, but if you don't pressure them they can just whale on you at optimum crush-through range. It's a lose-lose.

If they made movement more like Warband this would fix most of the issues.

personally i think the real victim of wide swing angle is while you swing hit sth around you that cancel your attack for example you hit your ally's shield or environment while he is almost behind you then you get punished by your opponent.

that is a design failure to me, haven't play the game regularly for 2 month so don't know if there is a changed or not but i wont hold my breath to it. there is only 1or 2 guy work on multiplayer part time judging by the progress they've made in the pass.

True, I would say the swing animations are almost as much to blame as the character movement.

They go in a massive arc, and with just a little bit of rotation from your character they can cleave a full 360 degrees.

This produces unintentional consequences like team hits and cancelled attacks from it hitting your teammate's shield. Plus there's also been times where I (unintentionally) killed opponents standing behind me due to the very wide swing windups.

The wonky animations are definitely not one of Bannerlord's strengths, that's for sure.

TW: "We aren't a huge AAA studio that can throw 100 people at MP development and pump content out. We are doing the best we can with the rescources we have, and a lot of the time we have to prioritise work which we deem to be more important."

The swing animations nees to be tightened up to help with this, like some people are saying, being able to hit in a 300° swing arc isnt the best. Also doesnt help that glancing really isnt a thing right now, the mix between swing arc and lack of glancing is causing alot of these problems.

The lack of turncap hurts the combat I agree. Unfortunately I'm wary of suggesting fixes as prior to the current free turning, the game felt very poor when turning and swinging with the camera sometimes losing control. But in a perfect world I think we should see:

-shorter swings with more equalised windup and release times
-a slightly more limiting turncap to prevent 360s
-a slightly larger 'bubble' around players to prevent slipping past people

This would create a more coherent melee.

and larger swing arc limit combat move as well, so far the combat is just timing left and right swing, combine with foot work it make some incredible hit like left swing while moving right, it may end up you land the hit while you are almost behind the opponent and still get hit even from a one hand weapon.

combat is very bad if it's not developer wont changed the server combat speed to the fastest, they knew there is the problem and they cant do anything about it for various reasons, they can only make changes that apply to single player so if you really want to play multiplayer better wait after the full release.

The only weapon this is an issue with is the Menavlion, really. And that's because the client synching is still not good enough to give a clear view of what the opponent is doing when swinging and turning, and so it becomes very hard to predict how the enemy swing is going to land and much you have to turn to even be able to block it.

Aside from that, there's nothing you can't deal with if you know how the combat works (at least after some better tuned crush through)

Ballerinas ?! Go to Mordhau, or better yet, Chivalry, and see what ballerinas are. Bannerlord is perfectly balanced in this regard.

Chivalry nightmares surround me... At least it's not that bad in Mordhau lol.

Mordhau has an extremely restrictive turncap, it simply looks offputting, but "ballerina" style isn't possible there at least.
