Is Starting With Persuasion Viable?

I've started a character who's main aim from the very beginning is Persuasion, with the intent of playing a politician/ambassador/peacemaker type who's capable of settling arguments between lords, making peace between kingdoms, etc.

Is this even possible from the start though? For reference, I'm playing the AD 1257 mod that has the diplomacy mod built in, so I thought there would probably be some good options for me somewhere. I did start out as a nobody without a faction as I like starting from nothing and earning my way into a kingdom.

Thing is, I can't remember if there's actually any quests like that I can do without being a vassal. All I really seem to get is tax collection and deliver-a-message quests (not that I mind; I keep a party of 2 so I'm blazing fast on the map and can easily deliver messages and alcohol to taverns lol. I'd like to do more though!). Once I get my relation up with some lords or kings, will I start being offered more? I haven't played in a long time and can't remember!

If not, what about if I start the game out as a vassal? What kind of quests or options will I have access to that involve Persuasion, and how often are they likely to come around?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You can talk to the guild masters, and there is a chance for them to give you a mission to make peace between kingdoms. This will require you to negotiate with lords on both sides, and persuasion is definitely required.

Ahh ok, I couldn't remember if that was given by them or someone else.

As far as the collect a debt and end a quarrel type quests, how do you get those again? I forget. I thought one of them was only available through marriage, but I also can't remember if you can marry without being a vassal, and if so, if you can still get those kinds of quests through your wife if you aren't. Idk, like I said, it's been a long time since I've played and I can't remember lol.

Thanks again!
