Is it really impossible to recruit lords that do not belong to a kingdom?

It should be easier to recruit lords that do not have a kingdom, but it appears its not possible? Sturgia falls and I want to recruit some sturgian lords, but the only ones that have the correct dialog entry are the ones that have became vassals to other kingdoms.

I have tried to find the answer, but I dont find it and I cant understand why the only way to recruit is to ask what they think about their ruler (and they dont have one).

Yes it seems to be so and I agree it's a problem. This also applies to rebel clans that have survived 30 days but haven't joined a faction yet.
However there is a bug that lets you recruit mercenary clans from your prisoner dialogue as if they were normal clans, I wonder if this bug will work with non-allied clans too. Haven't tried it.

I don't know what mods are available ATM, there very well could be something though.

these roaming clans will join a new fiction very quickly once they separated from their last fiction
but some times they dont join any fictions and declear war on them,seems they become a new small fiction

It seems that if you do recruit mercenary clans from the prisoner dialog, they have a much higher chance to defect than normal clans. I recruited 3 mercenary clans from the prisoner dialog and they all defected, while none of the 30+ normal clans that I recruited ever defected.

Yeah they do, but sometimes they stick around for long time and IME they are cheap to recruit (like less then 20K) so I felt I might as well do it anyways.

That was my thought too until the third one decided to take its fiefs with it when it defected.

I don't think I've encountered this yet. You're saying there are lords wandering around that don't belong to a kingdom? Or do you mean the kingdom has no settlements?

Mainly this has to do with lords from rebel clans. They often have no kingdom and the player doesn’t seem to be able to recruit them. But they are able to join other kingdoms sometimes.
