Is it possible to have more than one ship landing?

Can you split your fleet, i.e. have more than one ship landing like you can leave 2 troop camps?  I haven't noticed a way how to, at least.

If ya can't, that'd be totally a sweet feature.  Leave some ships on the British-Irish coast and some on the British-Scandinavian coast.  At the moment...it's a long way round haha.

You can't split a fleet, but you can have two. I had the same thought as you and bought a separate snekka to keep on the west coast (near hadriens wall I think) for travelling across with my raiding/quest team.

If you park them both in the same port it gives you an option to merge fleets, I don't know what happens if you say no, or if they're too big to merge. I've never had my ships stolen even after leafing them lying on the beach for weeks at a time.

If you say NO, you just cannot enter the port. It will also tell you you cannot enter the port because you cannot command more than seven ships or your Sea King is not high enough.

As for ships being stolen they can be if left unattended. Leaving them by your port does not seem to count as unattended as I have left several there for more than a combined 300 days with no problems. If in the field I leave my sailors in camp next to the beached ship and again have had no problem even if I did not return for months.

Glad we are getting ability to split fleets.

Guess I just got lucky! While we're on the subject, do sailors make a significant difference to sea travel? And how many do you need?  I've never been able to recruit them from the old sea captains.

you go a bit faster, not worth for me cause they are weak meat on combat. If I was playing a trader and I just wanted to run from pirates... then I would go for a full crew hehe

the camp report (IIRC) tell you how many sailors and the speed buff you gain.

I saw them in taverns as mercs. Rare to see a old captain with them on ports.

The calculation for sailors is +1 speed for 10 sailors. I have not found a limit and have had a +9 so far. Not so important unless you are traveling far or have slow ships.

In big fleets sailors are not so bad, but switch their group to archers so they are more likely to use their slings. If they stay on the ships and just pelt the enemy with stones they can actually be effective. Sometimes I put them at the top of my list and the majority of them are on my Busse. that way we can stay out of Melee range and use missiles. Very effective to pull up on the back side of even a group of heavy armored troops and pour missiles into their backs as they fight with your other troops.

Since 1.03b I have never found them at the NPC in a port. But then why pay for them when you can rescue them so easily?

Cool, that's good to know.  I haven't had the situation to have ships in separate places, always sailed to pick up my new ships after they've been built, so wasn't sure.

Yeah, the sailors thing is +1 / 10 sailors.  They're vulnerable, too, so keep em safe during fights!  Because if you only have 10 and lose 1...it's a tad annoying

Another thing I've hoped to do but not managed to yet, is port ships in refuge or something.  If your refuge is right on the coast, can you sail into it?

No. But, I have parked it near my refuge without it ever being stolen. I am just assuming that theft only occurs when it is out of your troops ability to see it. So, you should be able to park it by your refuge.
