I was thinking (knowing about my poor connection) would it be possible to go LAN?? and mabe abit or co-op gaming ID LOVE IT!!!!!!!

This. SP will not be co-op as far as I know in any way. However, the multiplayer modes are supposed to be able to be used in LAN when it is released. Right now, you cannot LAN and must use their servers.

Depends on the size of the LAN. I've administered networks with worse latency than I get from my home machine to Australia

Hmm... that sounds like that LAN would need some work then (unless of course Australia isn't that far away).
