Is it possible to get unique armor by joining own order?

Hey peeps! ..looked all over (and yes, used the famous 'search'-function too!), but couldn't find any info..:

Do you get an armor-set if you join your own knighthood order? And if so, is it then possible to get some of those unique armors?

for instance when you Ransom the named spawn Malitse to learn to craft the Maltise Asp armor for your knighthood order, among other things..

Short answer: no

Longer answer: an older version of PoP allowed you to join your CKO, but not the latest version.  You can get Maltise's armor by capturing her and releasing her - it's one of the options.

imo thats silly how you can decide to teach your smiths about that armor and how they are unable to forge one for you, yet they are able to make thousands for order troops

Oddly, there seems to be this dialogue where I asked to join (most recent version) and the guy was like "You're now our honorary grandmaster! Let the squires get you a complimentary set of our armor"

Obviously you want to have equipped your knights before doing this.

Yes it does look like you can join for a free set of armor. However since there isn't the place in the reports screen that tells you your ranks points I think it's safe to assume you'll only get the one set and there isn't the grandmaster quest (which makes sense).

I believe it was possible in 3.6, but was fixed silently in the 3.611 patch. Before the patch it was also possible to do the Grandmaster quest for your own order, by turning in heretic and snake cult books for rank points.

Yes, way back it was treated like any other order. Then, it was just removed.

Apparently the latest version has them go "oh yeah, have some armor." Even as "Honorary Grandmaster" they still address you as Founder, I think


Update: I actually joined an order, and now I can't ask to join these guys. Interesting. Well I wasn't going to wait until they were equipped before starting on the rank grind for another order (gotta love that order fortress)
