Is it possible to build an Empire?

Ok i'll do that thanks. Honestly i never even bothered to check what companions i was recruiting, i just needed someone to run my army. Theres obviously a lot more to this i need to master lol

I thought the companions were pretty useless due to their skills being quite low for most until I realised some have quite high focus in certain areas despite having 0 points in the skill, which tells me that you probably just need to put them somewhere to let them work on the skills. For example one of my companions had 0 in trading but 5 focus points in it lol, so I chucked her on caravan duty and she's leveled up a lot in trade and just in general.

Now that I understand the system a little better I'm looking forward to starting again and seeing how well I can progress them.

You are still limited to how many parties you can have in your clan though.

You can always right click a companion in the tavern tab ( not inside the actual tavern ) or look them up in the encyclopedia to see what stats they have. Their nickname is always a hint aswell. "The Lucky" have some points in tactics but we dont really know if that does anything so far for companions.

Not at home right now so can't check but can you not right click on their names in the chat while in tavern? (Where it shows your relation with them)
I can do it to lords when I'm talking to them from the world map it seems, maybe it's just borked for the tavern.

Oh well that might be possible aswell, i just feel that doing it from the tab is a little faster if they are not what you're looking for. So many shield-maidens and so few healers or tactic companions

Fair point, I keep forgetting that tab even exists lol, old habits die hard.

You are still limited to how many parties you can have in your clan though.

you have to bribe other clans to join you. kind of tough to dominate the world with just your clan of 4 parties. imagine defending that land with 4 parties

You can have equal amount of parties as the level of your clan, but yes it is impossible :p
