Is it just me or Lord Haeda is a total douche?

Rhodok lords are all jackasses. In all my games they are equivalent to Swadia. They sit there and do nothing, there is an occasional war with the Sarranids and all the lords feast during this. No idea how they are still a faction in a lot of my games. I can never start there either due to the lack of jobs that the lords need to have done.

Usually the Rhodoks manage to take the Sarranid capital with in two weeks of starting the game. (for my games anyway)

I wish they would do something, the Sarranids are just like their Middle Eastern counterparts, their armies are crazy and will attack even when outnumbered and outqualified. Not racist, look at the Crusades, they weren't always outnumbered but IMHO they were a lot less qualified than the Knights of the Crusaders.

I dunno. In a lot of my playthroughs, the Sarranids had crazy high tier armies.  I think it's because only the Rodoks and the Khergits fight them regularly, and the 'Doks usually end up not fighting anybody for a while. The khergits tend to get mobbed by the Vaegir and Swadians midgame, and stop fighting. The lords of the other factions seem too lazy to march all the way into Sarranid territory unless they have absolutely nothing better to do... (Which is rare, since they either spend all their time time feasting and/or warring on 2-3 fronts at a time.)

Also those damn Mamlukes/Cataphracts kick my ass on a regular occasion, and their archers can shoot fleas off a dog's back at 500 yards.

& an awful lot of knights got themselves killed with reasoning exactly like that

Touche...

Count Haringoth.

I helped his villagers and I got negative relation towards him as a result.
I saved his ass in battle a couple of times, got back into positive relations.
Then when I joined the Swadians I ended up having to rescue him, twice, from enemy holds. Not to mention the 5 times i've had to rescue his son Count Regas.
When I began to be a big player in the Swadian court I was given approval to visit and then marry his daughter, to which he arranged the wedding after asking for 16k denars from me.

About a week later he defected to the Khergits, taking my money and my future wife with him. Then whilst I was in Praven he raided my village (Why was I given Rduna...).

He remained in the top 3 of my relation to Lords list throughout all of this.

So I attacked his castle and took it for the Swadians. Then I searched for him. I found him eventually, this time besieging my fief of Uxkhal (That bastard). He then had the cheek to say i'd 'been trespassing his home'. I fought him (Somehow he had 190 troops, including 35 Swadian Knights and 40 sharpshooters, jesus christ ) and luckily with my ~100 Knights and Men at arms I defeated him, but he escaped. Then I found him again a month or so later, when he was in Narra with a depleted force. I besieged and took Narra, but he escaped again.

He's now my sworn enemy (Despite still having a +25-30 relation with him) and i've made it my duty to destroy the Khergits until he has nowhere left to hide. He is the only exception to the rule that I release prisoners upon the offer of a ransom; I will lock him away in my tower and put him behind a thousand man garrison, just out of spite.

Screw you count Haringoth (Or Haringoth Noyan as you call yourself now). I'll not just confine this hatred to this game; every single save I will hold you to account for your douche-baggery, you will always be enemy number one.

Sucks those things are like 30k sometimes. He probably thought about what you were doing to his daughter and wanted to get her as far away from you.
