Is integrated voice chat planned eventually?

So people can talk to their team without having to go to a third party program?  Voice chat would make the game, especially battle, about 2x as good.

Doubt it is, taleworlds is a small indie gaming company. What other games are there with as small a company as mount and blade that have such a feature.

I don't think it would be all that hard to add voice chat since the code's out there in all sorts of formats, but I could be totally wrong.

Honeslty for now they should concentrate more on the Building glitches and such...cuz i can already see the in game VoIP and everyone screaming into it...not fun.. Maybe in the future then yes..But for now lets let the devs work on the actual game

Voice chat will be implemented when Ragdolls and Multiplayer are. NEVER!

Maybe the voice chat will come out the same time as gore/dismemberment.

I loled at both these comments.

I know this thread is kind of old, but I was hoping to get some words from a dev (or be directed to such).  I just recently got my invite, and my first impression was, "Man, I wish this game had voice chat."  Actually, that was the second thing I thought.  The first was how smoothly the game ran, but that's kind of beside the point.

I understand the developers have some pretty serious CTD bugs to work out, but I wanted to stress how important communication in a game like this is (in my opinion).  I feel VoIP should be made a priority, if it isn't already.  I'd like to hear from someone in the know about the logistics and difficulty of integrating VoIP.

I had THE SAME impression and i'm thinking about setting up a teamspeak server for this eary beta testing!
What do you think about?
I mean..in every co-op game you need to talk fast with your comrades, and Warband makes not exception...
I saw my teammates being attacked from the back so much times, and i couldn't advise 'em!

If you are situated in or near Australia, there is already a Teamspeak channel set up in that case:

Hey Uber, I noticed you havent added the TS server details into the OP. Could you do that, pretty please?

Here is the info:

**UPDATE ON TEAMSPEAK CHANNEL**

Okay guys, we now have a teamspeak channel over on Games On Net!

The Details:

Server Address: 203.26.94.143
Channel Name: M&B Warband Beta
Channel Password: horseandsword

Currently there is only the channel at the moment, but I am working on getting us a sub channel for each team per server. The Games On Net Teamspeak server is not locked by a password, and you don't need to register an account, so just join in and have fun!
Quick info on how to setup Teamspeak:

Pretty simple:

1) Once started go to connection -> connect
2) Right click on the blank space and click new server
3) Add the details into the bar on the right (they are on the previous page in this thread)
4) Make sure to add the channel information into the bar as well, just so you don't have to sort through the masses of channels every time you join.
5) Choose your login name (you don't have to be a registered user, anon will work).
6) Join and have fun.

Make sure you have your settings set out the way you want them before joining, just look through all the option menus on the top bar and set your preferences.
Also, there is already a Ventrilo server hosted by a member of nK iirc, so if you are in the US or close, you can go there as well.

As for voice chat being implemented, there is already support for mumble positional audio in the game, it was added by a recent patch:
mumble positional audio support is added (but doesn't seem to be working at the moment?)
I wouldn't be suprised if we see it implemented soon enough.

damn, unfortunately i'm in the middle of Europe and i can't use US or Australian servers
and thanks for the infos!

I believe I just saw (few hours ago) a topic concerning European teamspeak channels. I'm sure a quick search will give you the answer.

In one of the patch notes it said "Integrated Voice chat implemented, but it doesn't seem to be working." This would point to a big YES!

I don't really think it is necessary right now personally. Perhaps in a later patch when the game is released, but for now Ventrilo and Teamspeak work just fine.
