Is Crossfire/Sli worth it?

Does this game even support dual cards? I run large battles, and it can get slow with higher graphics settings.

Some insights from dual cards users would be great

Cost vs efficiency, it's not worth it at all.

Shelling out for two medium/good cards to get 10-12% more efficiency, I'd rather recommend you to just buy a top tier graphics card instead, seeing as you got money to burn.

Just my two cents on it and what I've read.

Depends. Depends. Depends. (as with everything )

I have two 8800GTs and I never use them in SLI. I find it gives me an fps hit and I can't be bothered to optimise my settings. One of my cards is slightly faulty too.

If you have the time and patience to read up, download the appropriate software and optimise the hell out of your rig, it could well be worth it though. Nvidia make some impressive claims about some of the performance boosts duel card setups can offer and they're not to be disregarded.

You'll notice the biggest differences when using very high resolutions. I wouldn't even consider it, running at anything lower than 1680x1050.

What card are you planning to go SLI with?

Not really. It's not the graphics that causes the slowdown in larger battles, and to be honest there's nothing out there yet that requires an SLI/Crossfire capable machine (or rather, you'll get more benefit by upgrading the one card than you will from getting two cards).

I have a 5870 and this game runs at 200+fps nearly all the time maxed, so you probably dont need CF or SLI at all, unless you want 1000 man matches, but thats probably going to be a limitation of the processor and not the graphics card.

Pretty much this. I have two 9800 GTXs in SLI and the performance difference over 1 9800 GTX isn't significant.

Agreed. I have two 9800GX2s in SLI, and rarely use them both. I got them on a deal though, so it's not like it was money wasted, but if I was building another system I'd just go for a single top of the line card.
