This might have been mentioned by Talesworlds before if anyone has a source. I am hoping this so that ray tracing could be added to the game in the future officially/modded.
Ray tracing can't just be slapped into a game and it's only really useful in the most cutting edge games with the most talented artists, which no offense to taleworlds but that's not them. What we've seen so far isn't even making full use of the current tech they're using.

I definitely agree with you. Only I heard from Nvidia ppl saying that implementing ray tracing is simply to adopt its particular data structure for a surface material etc. and all calculations are wrapped in it. I personally don't have a background in game development but would really love to see some reflections from a blade and high-end armor in BL.
