Inventory Chest location indicator

G'Day all,

I am unsure if this is a possible request, but I find that when I go out hunting in a battle either in the hills or in the forests, it's nearly impossible for me to find that darn inventory chest again. Especially when you have some Dark Hunters chasing after you !!

My suggestion is if there could be some kind of indicator as to where you left your stash. Maybe even have a key that once pressed will display where it is located, and pressing the key again removes the indicator.

Why don't You want one handed sword with 100 damage, 130speed, and 150 range with no requirements and for 5 gold in every shop ?

Felklaw: I think its a good idea, maybe even a little mini map that shows up when you hold down a key, that displays your soldiers and any enemies they can see.

I'm sure Armagan has some interface improvements like these planned though

Oh please, stop. My sides are splitting from your witty sense of humour.

I'm not wishing to destroy the immersion by asking for such a stupid thing, all I am saying is that since I can't carry all the arrows I would be using, etc (and it must be a fair tactic since IT HAS BEEN PROGRAMMED INTO THE GAME) I'm pretty sure your character would remember where the supplies caravan is located.

If you lose sight of the enemies, a small yellow arrow appears on screen showing the general direction. A similar thing is all I was suggesting.
But your suggestion as an alternative is soooo much better.

I dont agree with this idea. Its far too unrealistic... If you wanna know where the chest are, remember where it is as you would in real life.

I dont want any visible indicators, arrows and stuff in this game. It will ruin it all. But also think there has to be a toggle for each function: so that any player wants the game in a certain way can play it at his/her way.

So of course this can be included, but make sure it can be turned off...

Where does this arrow appear. I hate when I can't see any enemy and I spend 15 minutes trying to find some.
I think this arrow should be there because in a battle, you'll hear people fighting, and therefore know where they are.

I don't agree with the chest locator either. You should remember where you left your things.

We dont need all this! No indicator or whatever...

Finding the enemy was part of the battle and opened the possiblity for a lot of strategy back then.

Next time someone will suggest a mini map, where you can see every ally and enemy...

Also if you cant find enemies follow your men, they always know where to find some...

I know that, but there are times when you are left alone for whatsoever reasons: lost your horse and everybody's gone, you are the only remaining man, ... If you were in a REAL battle, you would hear the screams, the hoofs, ...

So, you can add a ultrasurround-THX-sound system or you can give us a little hint of where is the sound of the battle coming...

How about at least a sound detection mini-map where at least if the make a sound the appear as a small blip. If they make a large sound like charging with their horse their blip would stay for a while.

Or change the chest into a small cart or place a small flag or some other visible object next to the chest. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or unrealistic, just something visible.

I don't think a chest indicator is any less realistic than the ability to issue order regardless of where you and your men are. And the fact that your men always know where the enemy is. Can't find that last mountain bandit? Order your men to charge; they know where to find him.

I think it's a good idea, as those who don't want to use it don't have to. You could rationalize it by imagining your character has a better memory than you have. He doesn't rely on the player's miserable fighting skills either, so why should he rely on the player's shoddy memory?

I have other alternative which would be a good middle ground to not ruin immersion but also allow you to actually have a chance of finding the chest again.

Since the piddly little chest is actually meant to represent the inventory of your war party, it would have been a caravan or wagon, instead of carrying all your possesions in a tiny chest.

Change the actual placeholder to a wagon, or a pack horse standing stationary.

This way there is no indicator as to where your stash is, but you actually have a chance of finding it again in the hilly forest terrain instead of looking for a small toy chest.

That is a much better idea, easier to code.

Also, it would be good if bandits could pillage it if you're away.
